A 19-year-old Brandon Township resident has been arraigned on charges after attacking a former friend in the man’s house.
Ethan Duane Schram was arraigned on one count of home invasion, first degree, a 20-year felony, as well as one count of unarmed robbery, a 15-year felony, on June 4 by 52-2 District Court Magistrate Mark Sadecki. Schram remains in custody at Oakland County Jail on $25,000 bond. He is also being held on additional charges of violating probation, with bond set at $7,500 cash.
According to police reports, Brandon deputies responded to an apartment in the 300 block of Granger Road at about 10:15 p.m., June 2 with information that an unknown person was yelling for someone to call 9-1-1.
Deputies arrived and met with the victim, who was not wearing shoes. The man stated he was in a bedroom when he saw Schram move a window screen, open the window and then climb in the apartment with a 3-inch black knife in hand. The victim ran out the door with Schram chasing him. The victim said that Schram tackled him to the ground and struck him several times in the head before leaving with his girlfriend in a silver Buick. The victim said he and Schram used to be ‘good friends,? but Schram was angry when he recently broke off the friendship.
The victim refused medical treatment for three swollen areas on his head. Deputies arrested Schram at his home and found shoe prints in the victim’s apartment that were consistent with Schram’s shoes. They also confiscated a knife from his car.
