The Brandon-Oxford ski squad had a mixed bag of results when they competed in a tri-meet against Flushing and Holly Jan. 22.
Both the boys and girls ski teams defeated Holly in the slalom and giant slalom, but Flushing defeated the Brandon-Oxford team in three of four events, with the locals winning only the boys slalom.
None of the Brandon-Oxford girls placed in the top four against Flushing in either event, with Flushing winning the slalom 10-32 and the giant slalom 10-28. The Brandon-Oxford girls defeated Holly in the slalom 32-33 and the giant slalom 28-33.
In the slalom, Karen Offer finished with a time of 34.35, while Heather Tiffany finished at 40.22 and Lauren Bayliss at 43.59. In the giant slalom, Bayliss led the pack at 26.47, while Offer finished at 27.68 and Grace Auchterlonie at 28.83.
The boys team defeated Flushing in the slalom 25-15, while losing in the giant slalom 15-26. The Brandon-Oxford unit defeated Holly in the slalom 15-25 and in the giant slalom 14-26.
Tim Smith led the squad in the slalom at 29.58, while Ryan Hotchkiss finished at 32.44. The two also led the team in the giant slalom, with Smith finishing at 25.81 and Hotchkiss at 26.55.
