BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE! ? Two Oxford Village homes were demolished last week to make way for future development. On Thursday, 87 S. Washingston St. was torn down. It was followed on Saturday by its neighbor to the south 89 S. Washington St. (shown above). The properties are owned by Annuity Acquisition Group. According to the group’s spokesman, Oxford attorney Ron Gricius, the rundown vacant homes were demolished because they had become a ‘hazard? as local kids attempted to break-in to them. Also, the ‘cost of repair far exceeded their value? so renovation was not an option, he said. As for what will replace the homes, Gricius said no specific plans have been made. Some type of commercial development, possibly office space, will most likely occur on the now vacant site, he said.
