Building fee hike Ok’d

Goodrich – Increases in some Goodrich building permit fees were approved at the May 10 village council meeting.
The building fee for a house under 2,000 square feet increased from $350 to $470 since the 2003-2004 schedule.
Fees for garages, porches, and decks accompanying any size house increased from 4 to 8 cents per square foot.
For houses larger than 2,000 square feet, fees increased from $350 plus 7 cents per square foot to $470 plus 8 cents per square foot.
For residential dwelling or parcel additions like detached or attached garages, porches, or decks, however, the $120 flat fee remained, while the additional cost per square foot increased from 5 to 10 cents.
Two provisions on last year’s schedule have been taken out of the 2004-2007 Goodrich building permit fee schedule: a statement that temporary living quarter permits were unavailable and a $250 minimum fee for unsafe building owners to be heard by the village council.
