Christmas in the Village outstanding

Dear Editor:
Thanks to everyone who was a part of Christmas in the Village on Dec. 5. With well more than 300 people attending, this year’s event was a smashing success!
The DPW and village did a marvelous job with the decorations in town, and the Magical Merchants did an extraordinary job decorating their stores. The vendors of Santa’s Shop were very pleased with the support of everyone who came in to the Old Town Hall. Thanks to the Pack 191 Cub Scouts, who gave out more than 400 cups of coffee and hot cocoa, collecting $100 in donations. In addition, thanks to the Brandon High School Marching Band who gave out at least 50 boxes of doughnuts and raised more than $500 in donations. Thanks to the Brandon Groveland Youth Assistance and the National Honor Society, who ran the kids? crafts at the Brandon Fire Hall. Thanks to Brandon Recreation Department, who made sure the parade went off without a hitch. Thanks to Paramount Signs for the beautiful, sturdy way-finding signs. And a special thanks to Santa Claus for coming in and listening to the hundreds of Christmas wishes.
Thanks for the support of all of the sponsors and volunteers whose efforts made this year’s event incredible. If anyone is interested in helping with next year’s event contact Pam Belding at pambelding@gmail.com or call DDA Executive Director Molly Lalone at 248- 627-8070.
