The Clarkston Rotary welcomed two new members as Jim Jeszke and Luc Poirier were recently installed as Rotarians.
Jeszke is an employee of Clarkston State Bank while Poirier is one of the owners of Slick and Bubba’s Elite and Expeditious Websites.
‘As Slick and Bubba’s continues to grow we want to get involved in the community as much as possible,? Poirier said. ‘What drew me to the Rotary was the lofty ambitions this organization has.?
Porier heard about the Rotary from fellow Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce member Bill Langdon. Jeszke was introduced to the Rotary by Brent Cooley.
‘The Rotary is a very community minded group,? Jeszke said.
The Clarkston Rotary currently has 30 members. The group has made a recent effort to recruit new members.
‘We want to continue to provide the actions and services the community is accustomed to and possibly add more projects,? Rotary president Joel DeLong said. ‘You will inevitably lose members to retirement or moves so we always want to revitalize the club.?
DeLong and the Rotarians are making an effort to recruit area business people. They are excited to have two new members.
‘Both of them have diverse backgrounds and will become involved in the many local community service projects that the Clarkston Rotary fulfills during the year,? DeLong said.
The members were sworn in on March 22.
‘Clarkston is so fortunate to have quality organizations like the Rotary, Optimist and Jaycees. There is so much in this area. There is a huge opportunity to impact our community and our world. I encourage people to look and see what is out there,? Poirier said.
