CMS students play in state honor band

On April 30, 11 students from Clarkston Middle School participated in the first annual Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association District IV Honor Band.
Students include: Heather Arpoika on trombone, Taylor Benson on french horn, Morgan Brisse on clarinet, Emma Burder on contra alto clarinet, Amy Cannons on flute, Ashley Chamberlain on flute, Kaycee Morra on clarinet, Kaitlin Page on clarinet, Jacob Rutila on baritone, Michael Schreiber on trombone and John Verros on trumpet.
The participating students were treated to a concert by the General Motors Downbeat Jazz Band, in which their teacher Julie Mathews played trombone. The final event of the day included a concert given by the students for their families and friends.
