Memorial Day marks opening day for Independence Township water facilities.
Bay Court Beach, 6970 Andersonville Rd., has free admission but no lifeguards. The park, open 7 a.m.-dusk, offers disc golf, a playstructure and covered pavilions.
Deer Lake beach, 350 White Lake Rd., is open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. weekends, 3-7 p.m. weekdays through June 12; 11 a.m.-7 p.m. weekdays, June 15-Aug. 14; and 3-7 p.m. weekdays Aug. 17-Sept. 4.
The beach has shallow and deep swim areas, with lifeguardsduring open hours; public boat launch available on first-come, first-serve basis.
Purchase passes for beach and boat launch on-site, or buy discounted punch cards at the Parks and Rec office.
The zero-depth Ren’e Przybylski Memorial Spraypark in Clintonwood Park, 6000 Clarkston Rd., is open 12-7 p.m. daily, with Toddler Time from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Admission for ages 18 and under is $1/township or Clarkston schools residents, $4/non-residents. Adult admission is free.
