Dear Editor:
In November, the residents of Brandon Township have an opportunity to vote in a new township clerk. We need someone who would be more prudent with our tax dollars.
Linda Cotton is well qualified and would see to it that the clerk’s office is run more efficiently, with less overtime. With the economy the way it is today, we need our township employees to work for us, and not always give themselves accolades for a job they are getting paid to do. Linda Cotton would also make sure that all township meetings will be posted in The Citizen newspaper, especially the ones where the township board decides to vote themselves a raise, as was the case this past winter. I am sure that Linda Cotton would agree that the township residents would like to have some input into that issue.
I guess it’s a lot easier to vote yourself a raise when there is no one at the meeting to question it.
