Goodrich – Along with restaurant sanitation, restaurants like Cranberries Caf? are receiving kudos for healthful menus.
The Genesee County Health Department awarded 12 county restaurants its ‘Healthy Lifestyle Award?.
It’s the second time Cranberries has won the award.
The program, implemented in 1999, honors food establishments for offering customers more nutritious eats.
Awardees must offer at least two different grain products, at least four choices of vegetables and fruit, low-fat or fat-free salad dressing, French fry substitutes, and meat, fish, poultry, and alternatives prepared with low-fat cooking.
‘The health department is not just about cleanliness, but also about healthy lifestyle eating, and we are very happy to excel in that category? said Cranberries? owner Patty Plant.
Cranberries Caf? boasts a menu with lunches and dinners for varied dietary requirements. The restaurant is located at 10250 Hegel Road in downtown Goodrich.
