Passed out in grass
On Sept. 15 the Brandon Fire Department called deputies’ attention to a man who was stumbling and yelling down the middle of South Street. When deputies arrived the 50 year old man was passed out in the grass next to the funeral home. When deputies woke him he smelled of intoxicants and could not stand up. He stated he had been at the Boat Bar because he did not want to go home. Deputies discovered he had three outstanding warrants against him. He was issued a ticket and transported home.
Second OUIL
On Sept. 14 a 44 year old Groveland Township man was arrested after deputies observed him pulling out of what appeared to be a group of people drinking in the garage on West Glass Road. Deputies followed the man who swerved off the marked road three times. After officers stopped the driver they noticed a strong smell of intoxicants, he slurred his speech and was swaying. The driver admitted to drinking 6 beers. A breathelizer test registered a .127.
MDOP on Sashabaw
On Sept. 14 a mailbox was knocked off the post on Sashabaw.
Missing bike on Hazel
On Sept. 14 a teenager spent the night at a friend’s house on Hazel Street. He parked his bike behind the shed and when he woke in the morning the bike was missing. No suspects were found.
Quiet down on Dogwood
On Sept. 14 deputies were called to Dogwood Court because neighbors could hear people yelling in the street. When deputies arrived they found two subjects yelling at each other. They were fighting over a phone.
Bad mail
On Sept. 13 someone left dog feces in a mailbox on Weiderman. The neighbor who was house-sitting found the putrid pile along with toilet paper in the trees.
Gas-n-go
On Sept. 13, an employee at the Marathon Gas Station in Ortonville reported to the Michigan State Police that someone pumped $20 worth of gas without paying. The man was contacted and he said he would pay and he drove off by accident.
What-cha looking for
On Sept. 13, a Bald Eagle Lake resident went to his truck and found someone had ransacked the interior of his vehicle. A neighbor had seen a car stop in front of the home the night before. He saw the suspect was a male but couldn’t tell who it was. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.
Messy thief
On Sept. 13 someone broke into a vehicle on West Glass. The thief took the speakers out of the vehicle and broke the center console. The door handles were also broken, but there was no forced entry.
MDOP on Hemlock
A Hemlock Loop resident called deputies because her roof was damaged. There are no suspects.
Safe missing
On Sept. 12 a the owner of Smokers Palace unlocked the store to find the shelves and counters empty. The ceiling was ripped loose and the surveillance cameras along with the speakers were laying on the floor. The back room safe with cash and lottery tickets were also missing. The store owner said the building owner and an insurance inspector had been in the building a few days earlier. No suspects were found.
Lapeer man arrested
On Sept. 12 deputies were called by a Lapeer man’s mother to settle family trouble. When they got to the home they found the man was intoxicated and yelling at his sister. Deputies discovered the man had a warrant out on him for a domestic violence charge. The man continued to yell even after deputies handcuffed him.He was arrested and taken to Lapeer County Jail.
MDOP on Big Fish Lake
On Sept. 12 someone scratched a vehicle on Big Fish Lake Road. The grill was also missing a piece of material.

One beer too many
On March 25, a Brandon deputy made a traffic stop on Oakhill Road near Sashabaw Road for expired plates. A strong odor of intoxicants was emanating from the vehicle. The 18-year-old driver said he’d had one beer. A personal breathalyzer test showed .06 percent blood alcohol content. The man was ticketed for under 21 consumption and released.
Special delivery
On March 25, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 2000 block of Allen Road for malicious destruction of property to a mailbox. The door and address sign were pulled off the box and the paper box had also been torn off. The case is open.
No reception
On March 25, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 3000 block of Cedar Loop to take a report of a stolen 36 inch television. The complainant said the television was on loan to her son and she received a call from a suspect who said he would return the television when her son paid him money he was owed. Two men were at the home when the television was taken, but one said he was in a back room and the other said he was medicated and asleep on the couch, thus not seeing who took the television. The case is open.

Honesty is the best policy
On March 26, an ATM card was found in a machine at a local business and turned in to the Brandon Fire Department.
Warranted
On March 28, a Brandon deputy assisted the Macomb County Sheriff’s Department in making an arrest in the 100 block of Myron Street. The woman had a warrant out from Friend of the Court. She was transported to the Oakland County Jail.

Cash-only policy
On March 7, Groveland troopers responded to a report of a wallet containing $60 and credit cards, and a container with $5 to $10 in change. The items were taken from an unlocked red 1998 Chevrolet Venture van parked in the 7000 block of Buckell Lake Road.
Later, the owner reported the wallet and credit cards were returned in the mailbox, with cash missing.
The theft is believed to have occurred between 11 p.m. March 6 and 7 a.m. March 7.
Trashed dash
On March 7, Groveland troopers responded to a report of a radio stolen from a 1996 Chevrolet parked in a driveway in the 8000 block of Buckell Lake Road.
The dashboard of the unlocked vehicle had been cut. Taken was a Sony CD player with a removable face plate, model SONCDX2000, valued at approximately $200.
The theft is believed to have occurred between 9:30 p.m. March 6 and 7 a.m. March 7.
Oh deer
On March 17, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to Oakwood Road near Baldwin to euthanize a deer who had been struck by a car.
Plate-less
On March 18, a Brandon deputy took a report of a stolen license plate at a home in the 700 block of Chris Lane.
And you are?
On March 21, an identity theft report was taken at the Brandon substation. The complainant’s wallet was stolen in November of 2003 while he was serving in the Army in South Korea.

Special delivery
On March 9, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 1000 block of Perry Lake Road for a report of malicious destruction of property to a mailbox. The owner reported it was the second time in three days.

No bows about it
On March 9, Atlas Township deputies responded to a report of three compound bows missing from Brown’s Do-it Center in Goodrich, valued at a total of $3,000.
After investigating the incident, police questioned an employee. The employee, an 18-year-old Lapeer man, confessed to taking the bows. Police are awaiting a warrant from the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office on charges of larceny of more than $1,000.
Drug thug
On March 11, Atlas Township deputies responded to a report of breaking and entering and theft from a home in the 9000 block of Henderson Road.
Taken were vials of the muscle relaxer Robaxin, the sedative Ambien, and Xanax, a medication used to treat anxiety.
It was the third break-in at the residence.
Upon investigation, police found the break-ins similar to four incidents occuring at a residence in the 10000 block of Hill Road over the past two years.
On March 12, police questioned a 35-year-old Goodrich man, who confessed to all seven occurances, said Detective Sgt. Joe Parks, commander of the Genesee County Sheriff Atlas Township Precinct.
The suspect is lodged in the Genesee County Jail, pending charges from the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office on charges of home invasion.
Tool time
On March 12, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 600 block of Hadley Road for a burglary report. The homeowners had been out of town and when they returned, their garage door was open and there were fresh footprints and tire tracks in their driveway. A generator, air compressor, table saw and hand tools were missing from the garage. The house appeared secure.
In the mail
On March 14, a Brandon deputy responded to a home in the 1000 block of Kent to take a report of malicious destruction of property to a mailbox.

License to jail
On March 3, a Brandon deputy made a traffic stop on a pick-up truck in the Clarkston Lakes Mobile Home Park after running a check on the truck’s license plate and finding it registered to a Caravan. The driver said he purchased the truck the day before. A LEIN check on the driver revealed he had a felony bench warrant violation of probation for possession of controlled substance from Nebraska. He was arrested and lodged at the Oakland County Jail.
Screwed Driver
On March 4, Brandon deputies were dispatched to the area of Hadley Road north of Seymour Lake Road to assist with a suspected operating under the influence of liquor accident. A Brandon Fire Department medic was on the scene when deputies arrived and a car was against a tree, with damage to the left front bumper. A partially full fifth of vodka was found in the car, along with a gallon-size jug of orange juice. The deputy observed a very intoxicated driver who had wet himself and needed assistance standing. The driver said he’d drank about half a pint of vodka with orange and cranberry juices. A personal breathalyzer test yielded results of .18 percent blood alcohol. He was arrested for OUIL and taken to the Oakland County Jail.
Oh no and a bottle of rum
On March 4, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to Dunwoodie Road near Dunwoodie Court at 11:45 p.m. for a crash involving a car, tree and mailbox. The suspect stated he was an idiot and driving crazy because he was depressed. When asked if he was drinking, he responded that he’d had six or seven shots of Captain Morgan and shouldn’t have been driving. A personal breathalyzer test revealed he had a .204 percent blood alcohol content. He was arrested, taken to Oakland County Jail and ticketed for Operating While Intoxicated.
Scram
On March 7, Brandon deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of Chevrolet Avenue on a family trouble complaint. The suspect had left in his car. The complainant stated she had broken up with the suspect and he was driving by and threatening her. She said she just wanted him to stay away. Independence Township deputies made a traffic stop on the suspect, who confirmed he had threatened the woman. He had been drinking, and two empty beer bottles as well as a half-empty one were found in the car, but a PBT yielded low results. He was issued a citation for open intoxicants in a motor vehicle.
Confess, ye sinner
On March 8, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a church in the 800 block of S. Ortonville Road to take a larceny report. The complainant had left her purse in an office while working and after stepping out a few times to file papers, noticed the purse was missing. The case is open.
Home invader
On March 8, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 3000 block of Perry Lake Road for a report of home invasion. The homeowner said someone had damaged a rear entry garage door jamb to gain entry and had taken jewelry from a bedroom sometime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Seven sets of earrings and a necklace were gone. A neighbor observed a white car in the driveway during the time in question.
On March 8, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 4000 block of Hazel Court to take a complaint of harassing phone calls the owner had been receiving.
Pop and go
On March 4, Groveland troopers noticed a person possibly ‘getting sick out of the passenger door? of a vehicle parked in the lot of a business in the 13000 block of Dixie Highway.
After smelling a Faygo red pop held by the 17-year-old St. Clair Shores youth, the trooper had the suspect take a portable breath test, which registered .150.
The vehicle was searched, but nothing else was found.
According to police reports, the youth was issued an appearance ticket, made to pour out the contents of the pop bottle, and released.
Past curfew
On March 5, Atlas deputies noticed two youth with guitar cases at 1:28 a.m. near Goodrich High School.
The teens fled, but were caught. Both 14-year-olds, one from Goodrich, and one from Hadley, gave ‘no good reason? why they were on school grounds, said Detective Sgt. Joe Parks, commander of the Genesee County Sheriff Department Atlas Precinct.
When the youths were taken to their parents, one family said the youth’s curfew was at 10 p.m.; the other believed their child was in bed, Parks said.
Got gas
On March 5, Groveland troopers responded to a report of a gas drive-off at a Grange Hall Road station near I-75. The suspect is reported to have driven a mid-90s model Chevrolet Lumina.

What a gem
On Feb. 17, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a mobile home in the 3000 block of Redbud Lane to take a report of larceny. The resident of the home claimed that a woman renting the mobile home to her had come in about 30 minutes earlier and had taken several jewelry pieces from a box in the complainant’s bedroom. The woman told the complainant she was taking them to pawn so she could recover back rent the complainant owed. While the deputy was taking the report, the woman returned and threw the jewelry on a counter, saying the complainant gave it to her in lieu of about $2,000 she owed in back rent. The complainant stated she owed $200 and didn’t give the landloard the jewelry, it was taken. Neither subject had an agreement they could show regarding the rental property and ownership was in question. The deputy advised the complainant to move from the home and the other woman was instructed to leave to preserve the peace. The case is open.
OUCH
On Feb. 17, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 5000 block of Sherwood Road to assist the Brandon Fire Department with a medical call. The subject of the call had been shot in the left eye with a nail gun while working on the home. His partner and he had been on opposite sides of a piece of plywood. The partner used the nail gun and the nail came through the plywood, accidentally striking the subject in the eye. He pulled the nail out of his eye and his partner called 911. Upon the deputy’s arrival, the subject was ‘very calm,? but stated he was in a lot of pain and could not see out of the injured eye. He was transported by the Brandon Fire Department to St. Joseph’s Hospital.

On Feb. 18, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 6000 block of Oakhill Road to take a report of larceny of a mailbox.
Bad delivery
On Feb. 19, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 5000 block of Hummer Lake Road to take a report of malicious destruction of property to a mailbox.
Real bad delivery
On Feb. 19, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 2000 block of Hummer Lake Road to take a report of malicious destruction of property to a mailbox.
No Screen Saver
On Feb. 22, a Brandon deputy responded to a business in the 200 block of M-15 to take a report of breaking and entering. An unknown suspect had thrown a landscaping cement square through a window of the business to gain access and proceeded to steal two computer monitors. The case is open.

No bang for your buck
On Feb. 9, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Windfall Trail to take a report of identity theft. The complainant stated that he had received a bill the day before for $7,786.86 worth of computer products that he did not order or receive. He had a similar problem in November when someone opened an account for four cell phones in his name. The case is open.
Taking it on the chin
On Feb. 10, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to Oakwood Road near Leece Road after a passing motorist noticed a vehicle in the ditch and called 911. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a man standing in the road, bleeding from the chin. The deputy detected a strong odor of intoxicants on the man’s breath and asked if the man had been driving the vehicle. The suspect first denied it and then admitted he was the driver. He submitted to a personal breathalyzer test, which registered .202 percent blood alcohol content. A Brandon Fire truck transported the suspect to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital Clarkston for stitches, after which he was released and taken to Oakland County Jail. He was issued a ticket for Operating While Intoxicated.
Arresting
On Feb. 10, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Village Court to arrest a subject on a misdemeanor warrant. He was taken to 52/2nd District Court and arraigned on the charge.
Run, hide, arrested
On Feb. 10, a Brandon deputy on patrol observed a vehicle swerving erractically before turning in front of oncoming traffic into a business parking lot in the 2000 block of S. Ortonville Road. The deputy activated his lights to make a traffic stop and observed the car park. The driver exited and fled, ignoring the deputy’s command to stop. The officer followed the suspect to a home in the 100 block of Viola Court and found him hiding under a boat. Additional help was called for and the suspect gave up. When asked why he fled, he responded he was on probation. A LEIN check revealed he had an assault and battery warrant from Burton and an Operating Under the Influence of Liquor 2nd offense from Waterford. He also had two prior Driving While License Suspended convictions and his license was not valid. Intoxicants were detected on his breath and a personal breathalyzer test registered a blood alcohol content of .045 percent. He was arrested for resisting and obstructing a police officer, DWLS repeat offender, and disorderly conduct and lodged at the Oakland County Jail.
Save a squirrel, have a beer
On Feb. 11, at 4:34 a.m., a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a two-car property damage accident on S. Ortonville Road north of Oakhill Road. There were no injuries requiring medical attention at the scene. The northbound driver said he swerved to miss a squirrel and hit the southbound vehicle. The deputy detected the odor of intoxicants on the man’s breath and asked how much he had had to drink. The driver responded he’d had two 40 ounce bottles of beer the night before, stopping at 8 p.m.. A personal breathalyzer test registered results of .12 blood alcohol percent. The suspect was arrested and lodged at the Oakland County Jail.

Who are you?
On Feb. 4 a report was taken of possible identity theft. The complainant stated her purse was stolen in April in Keego Harbor. She had just received a call from someone questioning her about rental of a big screen television. She felt it was related to the purse theft, since the caller knew a lot of personal information.
‘A lot? over the limit
On Feb. 4, a Brandon deputy responded to a report of a possible drunk driver on Ortonville Road. The deputy found the vehicle turning onto High School Drive and made a stop after clocking the car at 60 mph in the high school parking lot. The suspect admitted to drinking ‘two or three? whiskey and Cokes. A personal breathalyzer test performed after the suspect failed five sobriety tests revealed a .165 percent blood alcohol content. The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and taken to the Oakland County Jail.
No delivery
On Feb. 6, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 1000 block of S. Hadley Road to take a report of malicious destruction of property to a mailbox.
Not a sound
On Feb. 7, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 5000 block of Brooks near Winterberry Road to take a report of larceny from an auto. The complainant stated that between 11 p.m. and 9 a.m., someone stole his car stereo equipment. The deputy observed the dashboard had been pried away and the radio was missing, as well as an amplifier and speakers from the back of the vehicle.
Game over
On Feb. 7, a Brandon deputy responded to a report of a home invasion in the 3000 block of Cedar Loop. The owner stated he had left home around 3:30 p.m. and when he returned two hours later, a window was open and his X Box game system was missing, along with three controllers and four games he had rented from Blockbuster. The complainant stated a friend had seen a former roommate riding a bike nearby with a full backpack on. The case is open.
Assault
On Feb. 7, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Ortonville Road to take a report of a possible assault and battery. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a female subject with two black eyes, a swollen face and bruised forehead. She stated she had fallen several days before. Her male companion confirmed her story. The woman appeared highly intoxicated and a personal breathalyzer test registered a .297 percent blood alcohol content. She was transported to Genesys Hospital.

Where’s the fire?
On Jan. 21, a pick-up truck driver pulled out in front of a marked Brandon fire truck at the intersection of Oakwood Road and Briar Ridge Lane. The fire truck, with lights and sirens activated, was on its way to an unresponsive male and had to apply the brakes to avoid hitting the suspect’s vehicle. The emergency fire truck was finally able to pass the pick-up. A license number was obtained off the suspect’s truck and a Brandon deputy issued an appearance citation to the suspect for Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle.

No answer
On Jan. 25, a Brandon deputy took a report of larceny. The complainant stated that on Jan. 21, his cell phone was stolen from his locker during gym class at Brandon High School.

She’s all wet
On Jan. 27, at 1:22 a.m., a Brandon deputy on patrol noticed a car cross double yellow lines while traveling westbound on Seymour Lake Road near Perry Lake Road. The car nearly struck the deputy’s car, which was eastbound. As the deputy turned around to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, the suspect was also turning around and became stuck in a ditch. The deputy questioned the driver, during which time he observed an open 12-pack of beer in the car and smelled intoxicants on her. Her pants were soaked and the suspect told the deputy she had urinated on herself. The suspect failed two out of three sobriety tests and registered a .198 percent blood alcohol content on a personal breathalyzer test. She was placed under arrest for Operating While Intoxicated Second Offense and Driving While License Suspended.
Demolition derby
On Jan. 28, a Brandon deputy responded to a home in the 600 block of Shelmar Lane to take a report of malicious destruction of property to a vehicle, which had occurred sometime between 7 p.m. and 7:45 a.m. The owner stated that she had parked the vehicle with a for sale sign at the end of her private drive to sell it. The windows on the vehicle had been broken and mirrors on both sides were torn off. The case is open.
Beer on ice
On Jan. 31, at 12:14 a.m., a Brandon deputy driving northbound on Baldwin Road north of Granger Road while on patrol observed a southbound car swing into the northbound lane and jerk back into the southbound lane. Radar indicated the driver’s speed was 83 mph in a 55 mph zone. The deputy turned his car around and observed the suspect vehicle cross lanes again and then the driver lost control, putting his vehicle in the ditch. The deputy advised dispatch to alert the Brandon Fire Department. The deputy proceeded to the vehicle, from which the driver, the sole occupant, was exiting. The suspect told the deputy to watch out for the black ice and said he was sore. The deputy noticed the suspect had a strong odor of intoxicants on his breath, as well as an open beer bottle in the car. When asked if he’d been drinking, the suspect said he had been, while driving down the road. The deputy administered a personal breathalyzer test, with the suspect registering a blood alcohol content of .249. He was transported to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital and told he was under arrest for drunk driving. He was cleared by hospital staff for jail. The suspect’s girlfriend was waiting outside and when she asked how much he had drunk, the suspect replied that he’d drunk a half-pint and some beer. The suspect was taken to the Oakland County Jail, charged with Operating While Intoxicated third offense, Open Intoxicants in Motor Vehicle and Driving While License Suspended third offense.

Off road, off to jail
On Jan. 19, Brandon deputies responded to a property damage accident at the 3000 block of Ortonville Road, south of Seymour Lake Road. The officer observed a white SUV off to the west side of the road. The officer smelled a strong odor of intoxicants from the person who identified himself as the driver of the car. The suspect was placed into the back of the patrol car. He was administered a PBT and registered a .255. He was placed under arrest and transported to Oakland County Jail for OWI processing. Once at the jail, the suspect agreed to submit to a breathalyzer and registered a .18 twice. He remained lodged in the jail.
Lost and found
On Jan. 19, Brandon deputies arrested a 51-year-old Clarkston man who had an outstanding warrant. The subject was transported to the Oakland County Jail.
Roach, but no license
On Jan. 19, Brandon deputies stopped the driver of a 1988 Chevrolet Celebrity near Dogwood Boulevard and Juniper Street after the car failed to make a turn signal.
The driver, a 29-year-old Flint man, was unable to produce a driver’s license.
Detecting marijuana odor, the deputy was shown a ‘couple miniscule-sized roaches? in the ashtray, not enough to be sent to the crime lab.
The driver was removed from the vehicle, handcuffed, and secured in the patrol car.
A LEIN check revealed the driver’s license was suspended, with five prior violations of driving with license suspended.
A warrant was confirmed through LEIN, the car’s registration plate confiscated, and a temporary plate affixed to the rear window before the vehicle was impounded.
Damaged ‘Stratus?-rear
On Jan. 22, Brandon deputies responded to a report of property damage to a white 1998 Dodge Stratus parked in the 1900 block of Manorhaven near West Glass Road.
The owner, a Clawson woman, reported damage to the car’s left rear quarter panel, and had noticed an unplated blue GMC mini-van in the driveway with damage consistent with the damage caused to her vehicle.

Bad delivery
On Jan. 23, a Brandon deputy responded to a report of malicious destruction of property to a mailbox in the 800 block of Lockwood Road. There are no suspects.
Snow job
On Jan. 25, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 5000 block of Sunnyhill to take a civil report. The homeowner complained that the snow removal service that plows their road has plowed snow over their yard while leaving the opposite side of the road bare. He also believes the plow driver intentionally waits for them to clear their driveway and then replows the road so they will have snow at the end of the driveway.
Two drinks, two many
On Jan. 26, a Brandon deputy on patrol observed a vehicle in the ditch near Perry Lake Road and Flint Boulevard. The owner was outside of the vehicle and stated he lost control after taking the corner too fast. The deputy detected the odor of intoxicants and questioned the driver, who said he’d had one beer and a large shot of rum. A personal breathalyzer test was administered with a result of .093. The driver was ticketed for under 21 consumption, the vehicle was impounded and the deputy drove the 19-year-old man home.

On Jan. 7, Atlas deputies responded to a larceny of a JVC projector from the Goodrich High School auditorium between 2:30 p.m. Jan. 4 and 8:30 a.m. Jan. 5.
The projector, valued at approximately $2,000, is listed as model no. HR-XV25U, serial no. 138R6091.
Tool time
On Jan. 9, Atlas deputies responded to a report of larceny from a construction trailer in the 11000 block of Maples Shores Drive.
Taken was a DeWalt table saw valued at approximately $500, a DeWalt jigsaw valued at $130, a Porter cable router valued at $300, and a Mikita screw-gun, valued at $140.
According to police reports, the tools were taken between noon and 2 p.m. Jan. 2.
Just stop
On Jan. 14, a Brandon deputy running stationary radar on patrol observed a white Ford truck drive through the intersection of Mill and Church streets without stopping at the stop sign. The deputy’s radar unit indicated the truck was traveling 63 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone. The deputy began following the truck onto Crescent Hill and activated the overhead lights on the fully-marked patrol car. The truck kept going, turning into a residential drive, before the driver got out and ran. The deputy took the keys the driver had left in the ignition and followed the suspect’s tracks in the snow. He followed for about 600 feet before he lost the tracks. The deputy was able to identify who the truck was registered to and upon inspection found two radar detectors, both plugged in and sounding an alarm. The truck was impounded and a warrant request was prepared.
Gang graffiti
On Jan. 15, Brandon deputies responded to a report of malicious destruction of property to two vehicles parked in the 4000 block of Spruce Street near Dogwood Boulevard. A Buick Regal and a 1993 Dodge were vandalized.
According to police reports, the Regal’s rear window was smashed and tires damaged; the Dodge was painted with gang-like graffiti.
Gang again
On Jan. 15, Brandon deputies responded to a report of malicious destruction of property to a manufactured home in the 4000 block of Hemlock Loop near Dogwood Boulevard.
According to police reports, an obscene phrase was spray-painted on the side of the home.
Break it up
On Jan. 15, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a business in the 2000 block of S. Ortonville Road at 1:55 a.m. where he arrested two suspects for fighting.
Mobile message
On Jan. 15, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 4000 block of Hemlock Loop to take a malicious destruction of property report. The complainant stated that the day before someone had spray painted a profane message on the side of his mobile home. The case is open.
Alarming
On Jan. 16, Brandon deputies responded to a breaking and entering alarm at the 100 block of S. Ortonville Road. The deputies advised the alarm was from a motion alarm. Upon arrival, the rear entrance door to the business was ajar. The door and jam appeared to have fresh damage. While investigating the alarm, the deputy discovered the business directly next door was burglarized. The deputy went through the business with the owner, who discovered $100 was missing from his work station and the interior of the business had been ransacked. The deputy reported the burglary occurred in close proximity to the time of the alarm from the previous business. The case is closed, and no suspects are reported at this time.
Purseless
On Jan. 17, Brandon deputies responded to a larceny report at the 2000 block of S. Ortonville Road. The victim reported she ate dinner at the establishment the previous night and left her purse. She called the establishment the next morning and retrieved her purse. She found everything in the purse except for $180. The deputy advised her to cancel her credit cards. The case is closed, and no suspects are reported at this time.
Party hardy
On Jan. 17, Brandon deputies responded to an assault at the 4000 block of Oakwood Road. The victim said he was assaulted at a party that evening. He said he did not know any of them but would recognize them if he saw them again. He had a bloody nose and red mark on his head. He said his chin also hurt. He was treated by the Oxford Fire Department and refused transport to a hospital. The case is still open.
Tinkle time
On Jan. 19, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a business in the 1000 block of South Ortonville Road. A clerk at the business reported that a man had been in the restroom for more than an hour. The deputy found the man semi-conscious on the floor, smelling of intoxicants. Brandon Fire Department was called to the scene and a personal breathalyzer test was administered to the man, whose reading was .169 blood alcohol content. He was ticketed for under 21 consumption.

BB gun
On Jan. 6, a Brandon deputy took a report of malicious destruction of property to a vehicle that happened at a business in the 3000 block of S. Ortonville Road near Oakhill at around 11:40 a.m. The complainant stated he was in his vehicle when the driver’s side window shattered. He believes the damage was done by someone driving by shooting with a BB gun. He saw two vehicles northbound on Ortonville Road, a pewter-colored Aztec and a large black Chevy truck. The case is open.
Playing chicken
On Jan. 7, at around 9:30 p.m., Brandon deputies responded to a report of disorderly person in the 3000 block of Cedar Loop in the Sashabaw Meadows/Clarkston Lakes Mobile Home Park. The complainant stated a highly intoxicated man had entered his home uninvited. The deputies then received a report that a man fitting the suspect’s description was in the 5000 block of Oakhill near Sashabaw playing chicken with cars and yelling obscenities. When the deputies responded to that location, the suspect ran toward the patrol car, yelling obscenities. He was issued a citation for disorderly person and Brandon Fire Department was called to the scene to transport the man to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital Clarkston for detoxification.
Dog run
On Jan. 8, a Brandon deputy responded to an animal complaint near Apple Street and Red Bud in the Clarkston Lakes Mobile Home Park. A black pitbull was seen running about. The owner was having a difficult time catching the dog. After 30-40 minutes the pitbull was back in his home and a ticket for dog at large was issued to the owner.
Slow learner
On Jan. 9, a Brandon deputy on patrol observed a vehicle cross double yellow lines on westbound Seymour Lake Road near Dartmouth Road. After the deputy activated emergengy lights, the suspect continued driving for 2/10ths of a mile and pulled into a driveway, where she continued driving forward 70 feet before stopping. The suspect rolled down the window and the deputy immediately smelled intoxicants. The suspect failed three sobriety tests and a personal breathalyzer test yielded a result of .188 blood alcohol content.The deputy also found burnt marijuana residue in a glass pipe that was in a tin container in the glove box. The suspect stated that she had just finished drug rehab and didn’t know who owned the pipe. She was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. The alcohol and drug paraphernalia was confiscated and destroyed and the driver was taken to Oakland County Jail.

Fighting mad
On Dec. 29, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 5000 block of Granger Road to take a report of malicious destruction of property. The complainants stated they had been shooting pool in Lake Orion when they saw several individuals that they had been in an altercation with two weeks before. The complainants left in their pick-up truck, but were followed by the suspects. In trying to avoid the suspects, the complainant drove behind the Farmer Jack grocery in Independence Township at Sashabaw Road. The suspects attempted to block them in there, but the complainants escaped and drove down Sashabaw Road to the BP Gas Station, followed by several vehicles which then blocked them in. The suspects began hitting and kicking the pick-up. The complainants again escaped, but was stopped at a light, where more damage occured. The case is being investigated.

Oh Deer
On Dec. 30, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to Seymour Lake Road near Baldwin Road to euthanize a deer who had been struck by a car.
Generating a larceny
On Dec. 30, a Brandon deputy responded to a report of larceny in the 1000 block of Baldwin Road. Two generators were stolen from a construction site.
It’s in the mail
On Dec. 30, a Brandon deputy responded to a report of mailbox larceny in the 4000 block of Hummer Lake Road. The home’s owner said that someone stole his John Deere mailbox.
Don’t say it or spray it
On Dec. 30, a Brandon deputy went to a business in the 400 block of Mill Street to take a report of malicious destruction of property. Someone had painted a racial slur on the back door of the business. The case is open.
Special delivery
On Dec. 31, a Brandon deputy on patrol made a traffic stop for speeding on Ball Street near Church Street.. The driver had a warrant out for his arrest for operating under the influence of liquor. The deputy drove him to the Genessee County line and delivered him to law enforcement there.
Over due
On Jan. 1, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to take a report of larceny from an automobile. The complainant stated his cell phone was found at the Village Pub. He then discovered the phone, along with a book on CD borrowed from the library had been stolen from his car.
Deputies want you
On Jan. 2, Brandon deputies issued a warrant for an arrest in the 2000 block of Seymour Lake Road. The deputies responded to a domestic incident that was called in third party. Dispatched advised that a male suspect had a valid FOC warrant out of Macomb County. The deputies arrived at the residence. The domestic incident was unfounded, but the suspect was at the residence. The deputies advised him of the warrant and arrested him without incident.

No phone home
On Jan. 4, Brandon deputies responded to a fraud report at the 4000 block of Butternut. The victim said she received a bill from a collection agency regarding a cell phone bill. She said she never had a cell phone, and also said she called the collection agency and was told she would have to file a police report to have the situation resolved.
Sail away
On Jan. 4, Brandon deputies responded to a larceny of a boat at the 1000 block of Hayes. The victim reported an unknown person stole his paddleboat that was chained to a tree. The boat was on a empty lot that provides access to Perry Lake near his residence.

Too young, too many

On Jan. 5, Brandon deputies responded to a person under 21 consuming alcohol at the 200 block of S. Ortonville Road. The subject was found under the influence of alcohol. A PBT resulted in a BAC of .512 percent alcohol at 1 a.m. The subject was given a misdemeanor citation and released to a friend.

On Dec. 12, Atlas deputies responded to larceny of a cement mixer from a construction site in the 9000 block of Highgrove in Atlas Township.
The red MQ Whitman mixer, which had been secured with a chain, has an approximate $4,200 value. A special hitch is believed to have been used in the theft of the mixer.

Camper smash
On Dec. 18, Atlas deputies responded to a complaint of malicious destruction of property in the 8000 block of Clarence Road in Goodrich.
According to police reports, windows were smashed out of a camper between Dec. 8 and 18.

Van vandal
On Dec. 21, Atlas deputies responded to a report of malicious destruction of property to a business in the 8000 block of State Road.
Windows were smashed out of a blue van parked at the business, resulting in approximately $500 in damage.

Barn larceny
On Dec. 22, Atlas deputies responded to a report of a stolen shotgun in the 7000 block of Burpee Road.
Taken was a Remington 870 12-gauge shotgun, serial no. D310808M. The shotgun, valued at approximately $300, was last seen in the complainant’s barn a week prior to the report.
The shotgun’s serial number was entered into the LEIN network, said Sgt. Detective Joe Parks, commander of the Genesee County Sheriff Atlas Township precinct.

Don’t move and you lose
On Dec. 24, Brandon deputies were investigating an assault and battery in a parking lot in the 2000 block of S. Ortonville Road. Two men not involved in the altercation were told by officers to back away. Both refused, even after repeatedly being ordered to step away or they would be arrested. One of the individuals was arrested after telling the officer he didn’t have to move. The other individual was again warned three times to move away. He refused and was arrested. Both men were given personal breathalyzer tests with results of .19 bac and .151 bac respectively and were each issued a ticket for disorderly person.

Holiday spirit
On Dec. 25, a Brandon deputy responded to a report of an erratic driver near M-15 and Grange Hall Road. The officer stopped the vehicle in question and gave the driver several sobriety tests, which she failed. A personal breathalyzer test was administered, with results of .250 blood alcohol content. She was arrested, taken to the Oakland County Jail and kept for detoxification. She will be charged with operating while intoxicated, second offense.

Got gas?
On Dec. 26, a Brandon deputy responded to a report of gasoline theft in the 1000 block of M-15 near Wolfe Road. A woman drove up to the station, pumped five gallons of gas into a container and left in a purple Plymouth Breeze without paying.

The numbers don’t add up
On Dec. 26, a Brandon deputy made a traffic stop of a car with a partially obscured license plate and found that the car had an improper plate. He also noticed the passenger making suspicious movements and asked his name and also his birthday, to which the man replied 12-24-73. But when asked his age, he hesitated and said 33. Because the birthdate given would have made him 31, the officer questioned the driver and discovered the man’s real identity and birthday. He was given a ticket for giving false information to a police officer and the driver was ticketed for improper plates.

Drunk driver/walker
On Dec. 26, a Brandon deputy responded to a report of a possible drunk driver near S. Ortonville Road and Granger Road. While responding, the deputy was informed by dispatch that the driver was now on foot, heading north on South Street. The officer stopped his patrol car when he found the suspect and began talking to him. The suspect’s speech was slurred, his balance unsteady and the officer could smell intoxicants. The officer took the suspect to his truck, which he had left in a parking lot and the suspect confirmed it was his. The truck had fresh damage.

On Dec. 16, a Brandon deputy observed a truck enter the Brandon Middle School parking lot and made a traffic stop, during which the odor of intoxicants was detected. The deputy administered a personal breathalyzer test to the driver, with the result being a .072 blood alcohol content. An open liquor bottle was found under the passenger seat and the driver was ticketed for open intoxicants as well as minor in possession.
On Dec. 19, a Brandon deputy responded to a report of malicious destruction of property to vehicles in the 5000 block of Sherwood Road. The complainant stated the two vehicles were fine at 1 a.m., but at 9 a.m., he found them damaged with several dents resulting from a person or persons kicking the sides of the vehicles.
The complainant stated the problem started the previous weekend with an altercation at a party during which bricks and a crow bar were thrown at his car and a friend’s car.
During the week, phone calls between the complainant and an individual involved with the altercation took place, with threats exchanged.
On Dec. 19, a Brandon deputy responded to a report of lost property. The complainant stated that she had inadvertently left her purse with wallet at MacPhee’s Restaurant after dining there. Upon returning home, she realized her mistake. She called the business, but the purse had not been returned.

On Dec. 8, Brandon deputies responded to a malicious destruction of property report in the 1000 block of Perry Lake Road.
The owner said sometime between Dec. 7-8 someone knocked her mailbox down. No suspects or witnesses were reported.
On Dec. 8, Brandon deputies responded to an attempted home invasion in the 1000 block of Perry Lake Road.
The owner reported his house alarm was tripped, emitting an audible alarm. The owner armed himself, opened the door which connects to their garage, and observed a garage side door ajar. Deputies responded, but there were no signs of force.
Later, the owner discovered his eight-inch subwoofer, along with three packs of cigarettes, were missing from his car. The theft of property from his vehicle, combined with the alarm being tripped, indicated to him someone attempted to enter the garage. The deputies looked inside and on the exterior of the vehicle for signs of evidence, but could not see any. The side door which leads to the garage showed no signs of suspicious damage. The case is closed, and there are no suspects at this time.
On Dec. 8, Brandon deputies responded to a damaged property report at Seymour Lake Road and Kathleen Lake Lane. The victim was driving westbound on Seymour Lake Road when her driver’s side window exploded. She pulled off at Kathleen Lake Lane to wait for police. It is not known how or who broke out her window. The case is still open.
On Dec. 9, an attempted home invasion was reported in the 400 block of Edward Street. The victim said she left her home at 9:30 a.m., and returned at 2:35 p.m. She said her dog went to the rear door and began yelping. She went to let the dog out the back door, and discovered the door knob was loose. She notified sheriff’s deputies.
The deputy inspected the metal storm door and observed several scratches near the door knob. The knob was loose, and it appeared that someone had used a metal tool of some sort to try and pry it loose. It appears entry was not gained to the home. The deputy asked the victim and the neighboring tenant if they knew who may have done this, and they both indicated no.
The victim stated the previous night, she was out on her front porch when she observed a dark colored S-10 truck. The victim said she backed up, turned off the porch light, and observed the vehicle. She said it then took off. The case is closed, and there are no suspects at this time.
On Dec. 9, a Brandon deputy made a traffic stop for faulty equipment. The driver and passengers, both minors, were found in possession of open intoxicants. The deputy called for backup and a search was conducted, during which marijuana was found in the possession of the passenger. A LEIN check disclosed the Michigan State Police had a marijuana warrant out for the driver. Citations were issued to the driver for minor in possession (MIP), open intoxicants and defective equipment. Passenger citations were possession of marijuana, MIP and open intoxicants. The vehicle was impounded because both subjects had been drinking.
On Dec. 10, a Brandon deputy pulled into the parking lot of a business in the 1000 block of S. Ortonville Road and observed a female sitting in her car and smoking what appeared to be marijuana. As the suspect saw the deputy approach, she quickly hid the drug and opened the door to her car and the deputy smelled marijuana smoke. According to the report an open beer was between her legs and smoke was emanating from her leg area. The officer told her to put it out and hand it over. Citations were issued to the suspect for marijuana use, open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and minor in possession of alcohol.
On Dec. 11, a Brandon deputy conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle in the area of Ortonville Road and Wolfe Road after the suspect in the vehicle drove unusually close to the deputy’s patrol car. The driver’s eyes appeared bloodshot and glassy and the deputy performed several sobriety tests, culminating in personal breathalyzer tests. Two tests were given, with results of .275 blood alcohol content (BAC) and .246 BAC. The suspect was arrested for drunk driving, transported to the Oakland County Jail and issued an appearance citation for OWI.
On Dec. 12, a Brandon deputy responded to a report of a deer hit by a car near Ortonville Road and Seymour Lake Road. The deputy euthanized the deer.
On Dec. 14, a Brandon deputy responded to a home in the 200 block of Huff Lake Court to take a larceny report. The home’s owner told the deputy she had some maintenance work done on her home over the summer and in talking with the workers, showed them her handgun. Sometime later she noticed it was missing. Police have a possible suspect.

On Nov. 26, Brandon deputies arrested a 25-year-old Vassar man for driving while intoxicated on Ortonville Road near Allen Road. Police plan to seek an OWI charge against the driver, as well as charges for having open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and refusal of a PBT.
On Nov. 27, Brandon deputies responded to a report of malicious destruction of property to a mailbox in the 1000 block of Kent Road near Hadley Road.
The owner estimated the time of damage as between 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Nov. 26.
On Nov. 28, Brandon deputies responded to a report of malicious destruction of property to a mailbox in the 400 block of Granger Road.
The owner reported that sometime between 3 p.m. Nov. 27 and 7:30 a.m. Nov. 28, the front and back doors were taken off his mailbox. There is one possible suspect in the case.
On Nov. 28, Brandon deputies responded to a report of a home invasion in the 3000 block of Apple Street.
No forced entry was found, because of a defective lock. The owner stated that a Sony Playstation 2 game system and games for it were stolen. He also reported that a steel box he kept locked and under his bed had been broken into and a gun, ammo and coins that had been kept within were taken.
The handgun has been entered into the LEIN system by police and a suspect is under consideration.
On Nov. 29, Brandon deputies responded to a report of malicious destruction of property to a tree in the 4000 block of Dogwood Street.
The resident reported that sometime between Nov. 27-28, the tree was struck by a car. The roots were torn out and the tree is not replantable. Car parts to a 1989 Honda were found, but police have no witnesses nor a suspect.
On Nov. 29, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to Oakwood Road near Baldwin at 2:30 p.m. to euthanize an injured deer.

On Nov. 16, Brandon deputies responded to a larceny report in the 1100 block of Connell Road, off of Oakwood Road. The victim stated between Nov. 14-16, an API Grand Slam tree holding stick was stolen from his yard.

On Nov. 17, Brandon deputies responded to a complaint of suspicious circumstances in the 3000 block of Cherry Street.
The resident of the home, who had not changed the locks since moving, reported four articles of clothing missing from her closet.

On Nov. 17, Brandon deputies responded to a suspect throwing a beer bottle through her truck window in the 3800 block of Apple Street.
The deputies attempted to locate the suspect based on information provided by the victim, but were unable to do so. The suspect currently has five outstanding warrants for his arrest, does not have a current driver’s license, and stays with different people. The case is open.

On Nov. 17, Atlas deputies responded to a report of a breaking and entering to a home in the 12000 block of Green Road, which is estimated to have
occurred between 8:30 a.m. and noon that day.
After entering the home through an unsecured garage door, thieves took five acoustic and electric guitars, with a total value of $3,500; a collection of 300 CDs, valued at $6,000; an electric keyboard, valued at $1,000; and a
vocal processor, valued at $500.

On Nov. 18, Brandon deputies cited a 21-year-old Ortonville driver for a seat belt violation, improper plate, and possession of marijuana, pending a botanical test.

On Nov. 18, Brandon deputies responded to a malicious destruction of property at Sashabaw, north of Oakhill.
The victim stated she was driving next to the tree line at the Sashabaw Meadow trailer park, just south of the entrance. She stated someone threw some kind of hard object at her vehicle, and her right rear window was shattered. She did not see anyone in the area.

On Nov. 19, Atlas deputies responded to a report of larceny in the 8000 block of Burpee Road.
Taken from the resident’s bedroom was $60 in cash, along with a 1.5-carat diamond-ruby ring valued at $450, gold 2-carat ruby earrings valued at $675,
a gold heart-shaped charm valued at $300, and a gold tennis bracelet valued at $1,275. The items were last seen approximately six weeks before the police report
was filed. Police are investigating possible suspects.
On Nov. 19, Brandon deputies responded to a report of a larceny in the 2000 block of Ortonville Road. The resident said while he was away about 500 of his extensive knife, sword and dagger collection was stolen from his home. A suspect is under consideration.

On Nov. 19, Brandon deputies observed a deer laying in Seymour Lake Road. The deer was injured and the deputy put it down with his shotgun. A passer-by requested the deer and a permit to transport the carcass.

On Nov. 20, Brandon deputies responded to a complaint made to the Michigan State Police regarding unauthorized juveniles playing golf on the property of an M-15 business. The two subjects were warned and released.

On Nov. 21, Brandon deputies responded to a report of a larceny of two bags of carrots taken from a pile near their barn in the 4000 block of Oakwood Road.

On Nov. 8, Brandon deputies responded to a report of damage to a mailbox in the 5000 block of Hummer Lake Road.

On Nov. 9, Brandon deputies responded to a report of a smashed windshield on a resident’s motor home parked in the driveway in the 2000 block of Ortonville Road.

On Nov. 10, Brandon deputies responded to a report of a larceny of tires and rims to the 1600 block of Woodfield in Ortonville. Case is open.

On Nov. 10, Brandon deputies stopped a vehicle for traveling 44 mph in a posted 25 mph zone on Sashabaw Road. The driver had no registration of the motor vehicle, proof of insurance and had failed to change his address after moving. The driver also admitted to having several bags of marijuana in his possession which were found by the deputies in both the glove box and center console. The driver said he planned on distributing some of the marijuana for his brother’s birthday. Case closed.

On Nov. 12, Brandon deputies arrested a 44-year-old Royal Oak man near Oakhill and Hadley roads for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, second offense. The driver was lodged in the Oakland County Jail.

On Nov. 13, Brandon deputies responded to a report filed by a downtown Ortonville business owner.
The man stated an employee had ‘not been heard from or seen? since Nov. 11, and he wanted his company van containing $15,000 worth of equipment returned.

On Nov. 14, Brandon deputies responded to a report of a breaking and entering at a barn in the 1200 block of Rattlesnake Drive.
The owner believes the incident took place between 4:30 p.m. Nov. 13 and 7:15 a.m. Nov. 14.

On Nov. 14, Brandon deputies responded to a report of a breaking and entering at a camper parked in the 900 block of East Glass Road.
Witnesses observed two suspects with flashlights near area barns and vehicles around 5 a.m.

On Nov. 14, Brandon deputies responded to a credit card fraud complaint in the 4000 block of Dogwood. The victim said she received a letter Aug. 15 from a credit card company stating she owed about $490 on a credit card. She also said she received a bill from another company Nov. 8 stating she owed them about $4,600. She said she never opened either account.

On Nov. 14, Brandon deputies responded to a malicious mischief complaint in the 3000 block of Oakwood. The victim said between Nov. 9-10 an unknown person struck her vehicle twice with a paintball gun. The vehicle was parked in her driveway with the rear of the vehicle facing Oakwood Road. The deputies looked at the vehicle and could find no apparent damage. There are no witnesses or suspects.

On Nov. 14, Brandon deputies responded to a malicious destruction of a street sign report at Perry Lake and Sherwood Roads. The victim said he heard someone beating on his front door, and when he looked out he observed street marker signs on his porch. The sign was brought to the substation and the Road Commission for Oakland County was notified of the damages.

On Nov. 5, Brandon deputies responded to a complaint of a disorderly person in the 2000 block of South Ortonville Road near Allen Road.
Deputies verbally warned, then forcibly removed from the premises the intoxicated suspect, who was combative.
The suspect, a 36-year-old Clarkston man who was requested to take a PBT, issued a misdemeanor citation, and driven home.

On Nov. 5, Brandon deputies responded to a report of malicious destruction of property to a mailbox in the 1800 block of Liberty street near Davison Lake Road.
The owner estimated the damage occurred between noon and 10 p.m. Nov. 4.
Two days later, Brandon deputies took another report from the homeowner, who said his mailbox had been destroyed again between 5 and 10 p.m. Nov. 6.

On Nov. 5, Brandon deputies responded to a report of a motorist driving with license suspended on Granger Road near Hurd Road.
The driver, a 33-year-old Oxford man, had been speeding in the area. A LEIN check revealed the operator had two prior DWLS and was currently suspended. The driver’s vehicle was impounded and he refused a ride home.

On Nov. 6, Brandon deputies arrested a 35-year-old Ortonville man for driving while intoxicated on South Ortonville Road south of Glass Road. According to police reports, the driver did not pull over for sirens.
The driver, who was combative, was given a blood alcohol test. Pending results, the driver may be charged with OWI-2nd, possession of marijuana, and fleeing and eluding.

On Nov. 7, Brandon deputies responded to a report of home invasion in the 600 block of Mill Street in Ortonville.
The resident, reported to be at church that morning during the incident, returned home to find the bedroom ransacked and money missing.

On Nov. 8, Brandon deputies ticketed two Ortonville residents, 18 and 19, as under 21 consuming alcohol. The 18-year-old, who was on bond for a previous under 21 consume and disorderly arrest was ticketed for having no operating license on his person.
Both men’s parents were called to the scene, and they were released to their parents.

On Nov. 9, Brandon deputies responded to a report of illegal dumping in the 5000 block of Oakhill Road near Sashabaw Road.
The landowner discovered a deer carcass and garbage can in the area around 12:30 p.m.
The deer tag was entered into LEIN and the hunter, a 19-year-old Clarkston man who stated he believed animals would consume the carcass, was cited for illegal dumping.

On Nov. 9, Brandon deputies responded to a report of possession of marijuana by a 28-year-old Oakland man after stopping a driver speeding along Sashabaw Road.
Deputies noticed the pickup truck had a ‘skunky? odor. After the driver admitted having marijuana, he and the pickup truck were searched and marijuana found.
The driver was issued an appearance ticket for possession of marijuan and a speeding citation.

On Oct. 28, Oakland County sheriff deputies responded to a larceny of two four-foot bats with green eyes and hot pink lights. The complaintants says she purchased the ornaments for her front lawn. The bats were stolen. No suspects or witnesses. Case open.
On Oct. 28, Oakland County sheriff deputies arrested a 24-year-old Ortonville man after he failed a sobriety test. The man was also in the possession of marijuana. He was arrested and lodged in the Oakland County Jail.
On Oct. 28, Oakland County sheriff deputies responded to an residential alarm. When deputies arrived the front door was open and the latch was defective and would not stay in the strike. Case closed.
On Oct. 31, Oakland County sheriff deputies arrested a 30-year-old Hazel Park man in Ortonville after he failed a n alcohol detection breath test. The man was sitting in his car talking on the phone and explained he was not going to drive. The man also said he found his girl friend with another man. Deputies say the man had his license revoked for drunk driving prior to the arrest.
On Oct. 31, Oakland County sheriff deputies responded to a larceny on Crescent Hill of a bicycle. Case open.

On Oct. 20, Atlas deputies responded to malicious destruction of property to three vehicles in the 11,000 block of Linda Kay Drive.
Windows on a 2002 van, 1998 GMC pickup truck, and a 2003 Chrysler were shot out with what appeared to be a BB gun, says Detective Sgt. Joe Parks, commander of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Atlas Township Precinct.
On Oct. 21, Oakland County sheriff deputies responded to the 3000 block of Reese Road after a report of a larceny of political signs. The reported stolen signs where ‘Bush/Cheney? signs in the front yard of the complainant. The case is open.
On Oct. 21, Oakland County sheriff deputies responded to the 2000 block of Ironwood in response to alleged larceny of an electric drill battery. The case is open.
On Oct. 21, Oakland County sheriff deputies responded to East Glass Road in regard to a stolen bicycle. The case is open.
On Oct. 23, Oakland County sheriff deputies responded to the 3000 block of Allen Road after a report of a larceny of ‘Bush/Cheney? political signs. The case is open.
On Oct. 22, Atlas deputies responded to a report of fraud from a 60-year-old Goodrich woman whose credit card number was used fraudulently at Clio, Davison, and Mt. Morris gas stations to steal $1,500 from her account, although the card is in the victim’s possession.
During the weekend of Oct. 22, Groveland troopers checked the residences of 44 registered Oakland County sex offenders. Troopers discovered 13 felony violations, in which sex offenders failed to change an address, and four misdemeanor violations, in which sex offenders failed to verify addresses.
First conviction felony violations are punishable by imprisonment for not more than four years, a fine of not more than $2,000, or both. Misdemeanor violations are punishable by imprisonment for not more than 93 days, a fine of not more than $1,000, or both.
The public is encouraged to report sex offender registration violations.
The violations will be reviewed by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office for warrant authorization.
On Oct. 24, Oakland County sheriff deputies responded to the 2000 block of Kile D Dr. after a report of a burned mailbox, mail and newspaper. The complainant returned from vacation and found the charred remains. The case is closed.
On Oct. 26, Oakland County sheriff deputies arrested an 18-year-old Ortonville man with a felony warrant. He was lodged at the Oakland County Jail.

On Oct. 12, Groveland troopers responded to a reported larceny in the 2000 block of Jossman Road. The homeowner reported finding a pawn shop receipt in the home for a missing chainsaw after noticing rings missing from the home, and believes a family member took and pawned the items.
On Oct. 15, Oakland County sheriff deputies responded to a report of an assault at a local business. An employee said a man entered his office and walked around the desk where he was sitting and began yelling. The man that entered the office punched him in the side of the head, knocking off his glasses. The suspect was upset because he believed he was high-fiving other employees in the office due to the termination of his sister at the business. The man was told to leave the business. No charges were filed.
On Oct.15, Oakland County sheriff deputies pulled over a Oldsmobile Alero on Sashabaw Road for speeding. A bag of marijuanna was found on the 19-year-old driver. He was ticketed for possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance.
On Oct. 16, Groveland troopers responded to a report of new merchandise found in the weeds by a hunter near Brandt and Perryville roads. Found was a guitar and case, chainsaw case, bracelet, and part of a jewelry box.
On Oct. 16, Oakland County sheriff deputies responded to the 500 block of Aaron’s Way to a report of a stolen generator.
On Oct. 17, Oakland County sheriff deputies pulled over a vehicle for a cracked windshield. The name of the driver was checked and a warrant had been issued for child neglect from the Oakland County Friend of the Court. The man was arrested and jailed.
On Oct. 17, Oakland County sheriff deputies responded to a report of a hit and run at Ortonville and Seymour Lake roads. Witnesses recorded the licence plate and deputies responded to her home where the suspect’s car was in the driveway. Deputies say the suspect was attempting repair a damage to the front of the car. The deputy issued a Breathalyzer and the suspect results were a .16. She was cited for leaving the scene of a personal damage accident, failure to yield and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
On Oct. 18, Oakland County deputies responded to a complaint of mail larceny in the 1000 block of Kent Road. The victim said he believed an unknown person or persons stole mail from his mailbox around May 2001.
On Oct. 18, Oakland County deputies responded to a check fraud complaint by a Goodrich resident. The victim reported a check was stolen from his checkbook.
On Oct. 18, Oakland County deputies responded to a home invasion report in the 400 block of Dons Court. The suspect broke the basement window of the residence to gain entry.
On Oct. 19, Oakland County sheriff deputies responded to the 3000 block of Davison Lake Road to a vehicle that was broken into and trashed. The vehicle was equipped with a intoxicalock device that was also disturbed at the time of the incident.
On Oct. 19, Oakland County sheriff deputies pulled over a vehicle on Sashabaw Road near Ingles Lane driving at a high rate of speed. The 19 year-old operator’s license was expired. The officer also found a glass pipe used to smoke marijuana, a plastic vile which contained marijuana, a open can of beer under the seat and 12 pack of beer in the back seat.

On Oct. 5, Atlas deputies responded to a complaint of malicious destruction of property in the 10000 block of South Irish Road to a mailbox destroyed by pumpkins.
On Oct. 6, Atlas deputies responded to a report of marijuana and paraphernalia confiscation at Goodrich High School. The vehicle of three juveniles, suspected of truancy, was searched.
The search turned up several items, including a paintball marker, cigarette roller, marijuana pipes, said Detective Sgt. Joe Parks, commander of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Atlas Township Precinct.
One student’s probation officer was contacted; the other two students will be subject to school discipline and drug testing, Parks said.
On Oct. 7 A Brandon High School student lost her cell phone from her pack pack during school hours. A few hours later she reported someone making calls on her phone.
On Oct. 7, Atlas deputies responded to a complaint of malicious destruction of property to a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero, parked in the 8000 block of Jordan Road. Police are investigating a known suspect in the incident.
On Oct. 8, Atlas deputies responded to a report of threatening phone calls made to a resident.
On Oct. 8, Atlas deputies responded to a report of larceny of four by eight utility trailer in the 7000 block of South State Road. The trailer is believed to have been taken between Sept. 24 and Oct. 8.
On Oct. 8, Atlas deputies responded to a report of malicious destruction of property to a 1997 GMC pickup truck parked in the 8000 block of Perry Road. The message left on the vehicle resulted in an estimated $300 in damage.
On Oct. 11, Oakland County deputies responded to a business robbery in the 2200 block of M-15. Missing was a Dell computer, two hats, a pool cue, a battery charger, and a Dewalt Sawsall. The business owner believes someone entered in through the back door. There was no forced entry.
On Oct. 11, Oakland County deputies responded to a crushed mailbox in the 2000 block of Sashabaw Road. There were no witnesses.

Threatened co-worker
On Sept.23, a woman was dropped off at the Oakland County Sheriff Brandon Substation after she was left by her co-worker who was training her on a meat deliver route in Brandon Township. The woman said the company she was training with was based out of Grand Rapids and she had been learning the Brandon route. She said after she and the man that was training her were on the road for a few hours he began drinking and became verbally abusive to her and then told her to get out of the truck or he would beat her up. She got out of the truck but did not know where she was so a local couple drove her to the police station to file a report against her abusive co-worker.
Underaged drinking
On Sept. 23 a 19 year old Ortonville man was arrested after deputies spotted his vehicle broken down with a dead battery on Kent road. When approaching the man officers could smell alcohol and his speech was slurred. A LEIN check revealed the plates on the car were expired, the man had three misdemeanor warrants, and his license was suspended. A breathelizer revealed the man blew a .128. He was arrested and taken to Oakland County Jail.
Ripped off rims
On Sept. 23 an Ortonville dealership reported that during the night someone took six tires, rims, and the center hubs from new cars on the lot. The employee reported that the rims were worth $412, nuts $210, and caps $84 for a total of $3,765.56.
Disorderly biker
On Sept. 29 a homeless man was ticketed for disorderly conduct and trespassing after deputies stopped him for driving a bicycle through residential back yards on South Street. After giving police several different places of address he admitted that he has been living in friends sheds, garages, or anywhere he can. Police found a bag of items from Bueche’s but the man could not produce a receipt for the items. He was ticketed for trespassing.

Bike found
On Sept. 15 deputies received a report from the Brandon High School that a bike was found in the woods.
Broken window
On Sept. 16, Groveland troopers responded to a complaint of vandalism to a home in the 6000 block of Kimberly Drive. According to police reports, at approximately 4 a.m., a large rock broke the home’s window.
Tree stands stolen
On Sept. 17, Groveland troopers responded to a complaint of larceny of three hunting tree stands taken from state land near Van and Groveland roads, valued at approximately $200. All three stands had names written on them, and are believed to have been taken between Sept. 1 and 16.
Footprints left
On Sept. 21 a Spruce Court resident reported that someone broke a bedroom window while she was away from the home. Deputies found fresh footprints in the flower box under the window, which looked to be the size of a teenager. There are no suspects.

Engagement ring missing
On Sept. 17 a Hurd Road resident reported that an engagement ring was missing from the box he stored it in. He reported that he last saw the ring in June when he hid it, but it was done in August when he check up on it. He does not know if the ring was lost or stolen.
Minors drinking
On Sept. 19 three Clarkston youths were ticket for alcohol consumption after being observed pulling into a church parking lot on Seymour Lake Road. When officers questioned the 17 year old driver he detected a faint smell of alcohol and the driver confessed to having a drink earlier. Two of the passengers also admitted to drinking and breathelizers showed the driver had a bac of .035. The passengers blew a .035 and .11 consecutively. The deputy ticketed the minors for underaged drinking and a sober driver took the youths home.

Smashing explorer
On Aug. 18, Groveland troopers responded to a report of malicious destruction of property to an SUV on Dixie Highway. According to police reports, sometime between 10 p.m. Aug. 17 and 7 a.m. Aug. 18 the driver’s side window was smashed out of a white 1994 Ford Explorer.
Shooting victim
On Aug. 22, Groveland troopers responded to a report of a 12-year-old boy being shot with a BB gun by a 29-year-old Holly man after the boy showed interest in seeing the gun. The witness, a 23-year-old Holly man, reported that he and the suspect were shooting at each other. He denied seeing the suspect shoot at the boy, although he heard the victim repeatedly say ‘stop.? The suspect denied shooting at the boy, who had red BB-size marks on his arm.
Single cycle crash
On Sept. 1, Groveland troopers responded to a single-vehicle accident at 4:45 p.m. on M-15 west of Oakwood Road. The driver, a 56-year-old Groveland Township man, was driving a 1985 Kawasaki motorcycle. According to police reports, neither alcohol or road conditions were a factor. The driver was not transported for medical attention.
Too complicated to steal
On Sept. 4, Groveland troopers responded to a report of attempted larceny of a 2004 Bobcat from a business located in the 100 block of Ortonville Road. According to police reports, only the key to the Bobcat had been taken. The business owner believed the missing key indicated a larceny attempt that was unsuccessful due to the vehicle’s complicated start-up procedure, one not required to start older models. The business had recently been broken into, and tools were taken from a Matco Tool truck.
Key caper
On Sept. 10 an Ironwood resident reported that someone stole a set of keys from her kitchen counter when she stepped out of the house to take two little girls home. The resident says she thinks someone took them while she was gone.
Tire stabbing
On Sept. 10 a Viola resident reported that someone stabbed the sidewalls of his tires. There are no suspects.
Plate removed
On Sept. 13, a Don Court resident reported that his son removed the license plate from his car. He believes it was then put on his son’s blue, 1991 Toyota. The resident assured the deputies that he would get the plate back from his son.

Case stolen
On Sept. 2 a Pinewood Street resident reported that his brief case was stolen out of his home. The case had credit cards, important papers, and checks inside of it. The resident told Deputy Spalo that his ex-wife had been to his home two weeks ago and suspects she may have taken the case. The case is still open.
Dishonored check
On Sept. 3, a local bank reported check fraud after a customer deposited $680 into her savings account and received $580 cash.The check was written from a credit union in Davison.The credit union refused to honor the check due to insufficient funds.A few days later the woman came through the drive through and attempted to cash another check for $150.The teller did not process the check because of the previous insufficient funds.The bank assistant manager wishes to prosecute the customer.
Slashed tires
On Sept. 4 a Sherman Court resident reported that when he went out to his car he found the tires slashed and a broken beer bottle near the vehicle.
Mirrored theft
On Sept. 3 an Oakwood resident reported that someone took the mirror and post that was set up on Oakwood Road to assist the resident while entering the road. There were no witnesses to the glassy grab.
Zero tolerance
On Sept. 5 a deputy observed a vehicle pass a car in the left turn lane at Glass and M-15. When pulled over the driver said the person he passed was driving too slow. The deputy could smell alcohol and told the driver to sit in the car, however the Grand Blanc youth ran away from the deputy. While the officer chased the youth, two other passengers ran from the scene. When the deputy caught the driver he stated he ran because he was on probation from a minor in possession arrest and admitted to drinking and driving. The deputy found nine unopened, cold beers in the passenger seat. A blood alcohol test registered a .130. The youth was arrested.

Noisy neighbor
On Aug. 27 a Granger Road resident reported that a neighbor had been playing loud drums and music. The resident added that he had complained about the noise in the past, and that the neighbors have a garage band. The resident told Deputy Stanaj that he was willing to go to court to stop the noise. Stanaj went to the neighbor’s house and saw loudspeakers set up in the garage but no one was home.
Profane scratcher
On Aug. 27 a Redbud Lane resident reported that someone scratched profanity all over the trunk, rear bumper, and driver’s door of his car. There are no suspects.
Double Schwinn schwipe
On Aug 27 a Hadley Road resident reported that someone entered a home under construction and stole two 27 speed Schwinn Sierra bicycles valued at $692. One bike was dark green and the other was gray.
Birthday smasher
On Aug. 29 an Elm Court resident reported that while he was out celebrating his girlfriend’s birthday someone had smashed the rear window out of his car that was parked in the driveway. There was a large beer bottle found in the back seat of the car. There are no suspects.
Shady smashing
On Aug. 26 a Shady Lane resident reported that during the night someone knocked his mailbox to the ground and broke the lights on the cement pillars at the end of his driveway.

On Aug. 18 a Juniper resident reported that someone slashed the rear tire on her vehicle. There are no suspects.
Stalking robber
On Aug. 18 a Redbud resident reported that someone broke into their neighbor’s home. The neighbor told deputies that for several days he saw a white male watching the house. When he went to let his dog out he noticed the door of the home was open and he knew his neighbor was away so he called the police. The homeowner said the suspect stole a 35 inch Toshiba television, a Sony stereo, two DVD players, and a radio/CD player. The case is open.
Yapper
On Aug. 18 a Betty Street resident reported that a nearby dog had been barking for three days and that she was concerned for the welfare of the dog. The dog appeared well fed and watered to the deputies, and the dog owner said she took care good care of the dog and would deal with the barking problem.
Mail found awry
On Aug. 18 a Hurd Road resident found on the road mail that did not belong to her address. Deputies delivered the mail to the proper address.
Unsuccessful thievery
On Aug. 19 a Birch Road resident reported that someone broke into the shed, by force. When deputies arrived, however, the homeowner replaced the clasp on the shed door that had been busted out by the suspected thief. The homeowner’s wife said she heard loud voices outside her home and saw the shed door was opened. Deputies found a chain saw, two routers, and a weed whip outside the shed. The homeowner said the items were his. There are no suspects.
Schwiped the Schwinn
On Aug. 19 a Chestnut woman reported that a pair of bikes were stolen from her unlocked shed. Later one bike was recovered but the second was still missing.
Bike found
On Aug. 19 a Pinoak resident reported a bike found across the street from his house.
Slash fever
On Aug. 19 a Juniper resident reported that someone slashed her tires for the fifth time in two months. This time the slasher trashed tires on two vehicles parked in the driveway.
Spectacle heist
On Aug. 19 a Buckeye resident reported that someone stole two pairs of sunglasses and 10 tapes from her unlocked car.
Key theft
On Aug. 19 a Buckeye resident reported that someone stole an important set of keys, uncashed checks, and bank statements from her car.

Credit cards missing
On Aug. 20, Atlas deputies responded to a complaint of larceny to a motor vehicle in the 9000 block of Ridge Road. A man’s wallet was discovered missing from the vehicle, and found in the street. Credit cards had been taken from the wallet.
Domestic assault
On Aug. 21, Atlas deputies responded to a complaint of domestic assault in the 10000 block of Hegel Road. Upon arrival, the suspect was gone. The case has been turned over to the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office.
Lurking intruder
On Aug. 23 a woman who was house sitting on Allen Court reported that someone was in the home at 5:30 in the morning. She told the deputy that she was walking the dog in the morning and when she returned she thought she saw a shadow on the side of the house. She started into the house and found the front door was open. As she entered she said it seemed as if she saw someone standing in the living room, but she couldn’t find anyone in the home.
Splatterer
On Aug. 23 an Oakhill resident reported that someone struck the house with a dozen paint balls. There are no suspects.
Unholy mess
On Aug. 24 an Oakwood resident reported that someone scrawled lewd and obscene remarks all over the siding of his home. There are no suspects.

Scribbled slur
On Aug. 14 an Oakwood Road resident reported that someone had painted slurred remarks and profanity on four of their cars, scratched them, and the garage door. The resident said he did not know of anyone who had anything against him but he did have a 21 year old daughter and to the officer the slurs seemed to be pointed at her. The daughter said she heard a motorcycle start up and drive away during the middle of the night when she and her boyfriend were watching a movie. There are no suspects.
Garbage fraud
On Aug. 14 a Mersino Lane resident reported that she contracted with a Dryden garbage disposal company, but after giving them a check the garbage pick up stopped. She told the deputy she feels the company, Midas Disposal, may not be a legitimate company. Several attempts to reach the company were unanswered.
Untrailed trailer
On Aug. 14 a Perry Lake Road resident reported that someone drove off with a travel trailer during the night. There are no suspects.
Passenger nabbed
On Aug. 14 after a routine traffic stop for speeding, a deputy discovered the passenger was wanted on a previous warrant. The 27 year old driver was sited for driving on a suspended license and her passenger was arrested.
Federal snooper
On Aug. 14 a Buckeye Drive resident reported that she saw a heavy set, white female, carrying a handbag walking up the road, looking into all the United States post boxes. The resident believes the suspect may have stolen her mail because when she checked the box it was empty.
Federal smasher
On Aug. 15 a Connell Road resident reported that someone smashed his mailbox and then put a ‘Playboy? magazine inside the smashed box. The resident said this is the second time this has happened in the past week.
Hiked hitch
On Aug. 15 an M-15 resident reported that someone stole a trailer hitch off of the camper that was being storred in his yard. He said he was not sure of who heisted the hitch but he saw a grey Tahoe or Yukon slowly leave his driveway.
Known suspect
On Aug. 16 a builder who was constructing a home on Sashabaw reported that someone did more than $3,500 damage to the home. Deputies noted that several holes were punched and slashed in the carpet, throughout the house. Holes were also punched in the bathroom vanity. The builder gave Deputy Spalo the name of an ex-employee who may have caused the damage because he threatened the employer after stealing tools and being forced to return them. The builder said the former employee was fired and told his boss ‘you haven’t heard the last of me.? The destruction is under investigation.
Federal tampering
On Aug. 16 an Ironwood Road resident reported that someone stole numerous pieces of mail from hers and her neighbors mail boxes. She stated that when started scouring the area for her mail she found several pieces from hers and the neighbors’addresses had been dumped behind a neighbor’s house. The resident were warned about identity theft and credit card fraud.

Rats who took cats
On Aug. 10 the owner of Edith’s Pets reported that someone stole two black cats from inside of her store. She said ‘some kind of goofy people came in,? the man was tall and skinny the female had a 3-year-old boy with her and both were in their teens to early 20’s. The skinny male drifted toward the back of the store while the woman distracted the owner by asking questions about cats. After the woman left the store the owner discovered the two cats were missing out of their cage. The owner says she suspects the skinny male left with the cats out of the back of her store.
Caught on tape
On Aug. 10 the clerk at the Shell Gas Station reported that a young female came into the store and asked to see a pack of Camel cigarettes, while holding them she asked to see another type of cigarettes and when the clerk turned around to get them the girls ran out the door. The clerk showed officers a video of the incident and they were able to locate the girl at her home a few houses from the gas station. The girl admitted to taking the cigarettes. Her guardian offered to pay the $6 for the cigarettes and discipline the young female.
Asleep at wheel
On Aug. 8 the manager at McDonald’s reported that a young man fell asleep at the wheel in the drive through lane. When deputies arrived the 18-year-old man had a strong odor of intoxicants and a 12 pack of beer in the back seat. A breathelizer test showed he had a .173 alcohol level. He was arrested and taken to Oakland County Jail. His Grand Prix was impounded.
Banned suspected blaster
On Aug. 8 an Allen Road resident reported that he and his wife heard a loud boom and when they went out to investigate they found their mailbox had been blown off the post. They told the deputy they suspect it may have been a neighbor that was a friend of their grandson’s who is no longer allowed at their house.
Red-eye bust
On Aug. 8 deputies responded to reports of loud juveniles in the area of Sashabaw Road. Deputies observed a car with four young people leaving the area and noticed the two back passenger doors open as the car was turning a corner. When stopped, the deputy noticed a strong odor of marijuana from all four occupants who also had bloodshot eyes. The 18-year-old driver admitted to drinking two beers and two shots earlier in the evening and blew a .06 on the breathelizer. He was arrested and the deputy found a Baggie of what appeared to be marijuana in his pocket. A 17-year-old passenger who was loud and would not get off of his cell phone when asked was ticketed for underage drinking after he blew a .176. His mother came to pick him up but returned to the deputy after her son jumped out of the moving vehicle. She asked deputies to arrest him if they found him. An 18-year-old passenger was given a ticket and taken home after he blew a .106, and a 15-year-old passenger was also taken home after blowing a .89. All four boys were from Ortonville.
Mailbox menace
On Aug. 9 a Bald Eagle Lake resident found his mail box knocked down off the post.

Tanks taken
On Aug. 9 a Myron businessman reported that during the night someone broke into the welding cage at the back of the business and stole nine welding tanks, full of fuel. Deputies found a set of tire tracks near the cage behind the facility.
Double botched B&E
On Aug. 10 a Dons Court resident reported that for two consecutive days he came home from work to evidence that someone had tried to break into his house. There is no evidence of who attempted the alleged break-ins.
Double tire popping
On Aug. 10 a Dena Marie resident reported that someone popped two tires on his vehicle and two on his daughter’s car. He thinks he knows who the suspects are.
Wise choice
On July 28, a 20-year-old Sandusky, Mich. woman drove to the Michigan State Police Groveland Post to report an accident at M-15 and Oakwood Road involving a second driver, a 19-year-old man. The woman registered a .143 PBT, was arrested and lodged in the Oakland County Jail.
Smeared sign
On July 30, Groveland troopers responded to a complaint of malicious destruction of property to a business located on Dixie Highway. Over a two-week period, the business experienced an ‘Employee of the Month? sign ripped down and several paint ball splats on the building.
Heavy heist
On July 26, Groveland troopers responded to a report of larceny of a cement mixer from a job site located in the 8000 block of Standing Pines Drive.

Give it up
On July 26 a Granger Road resident complained that his girlfriend had his wallet and would not return it. He told deputies that the pair had been arguing and she took the wallet out of his car and left. She then made an appointment to return the billfold, but did not show up. When she finally did show, she would not give it to him and threatened to throw it into the street, before she began to speed away. As the man hung on to her driver side window, it broke so he reported the incident to the police. He stated he would pay for the broken window.
Underaged aged drinking
On July 29 an 18-year-old Ortonville man was arrested after a deputies found a case of opened beer in the car and the man admitted to drinking four beers. After blowing a .116 the man was arrested and his car impounded.
Family fight night
On July 29 deputies were called to a home on Lockwood after two brothers (both in their 40’s) began fighting. The brothers had been working on the family garage when they began arguing and then a fight broke out. When the deputy arrived both brothers appeared to be scratched. Each brother blamed the other for the onset of the argument, but their mother pointed to one of the men, whom she said is the more aggressive of the two. The first brother was arrested.
Blurted confession
On July 29 a 21-year-old Oxford man was arrested after a deputy observed him running a stop sign. When the deputy attempted to pull the man over he pulled off the road at 45 miles per hour, resting the vehicle against a ditch protector. When asked if he knew why he was stopped, the man ‘blurted? out because he was drinking. He told the officer he was on his way home from Pine Knob and had four beers. He blew a .17 on the breathelizer and was arrested for drunk driving.
Angry door knocker
On July 30 a Viola resident reported her ex-boyfriend came over to get a television and accused her of changing the locks on the storage shed. At that point she called police and during the call he knocked the phone out of her hand and kicked in the door of the apartment they co-own.
Threatening neighbor
On July 30 a Hollyhock resident reported that a neighbor threatened to shoot him in the head. He said he has recurring problems with the woman who has accused him of entering on her property. He denies ever stepping foot on the property.
Bashed mail box
On July a N. Hadley Road resident reported that someone ran over his mailbox, breaking it off below the grade of cement plug.
Underage drinking party
On July 31 a Perry Lake resident reported that there was underaged drinking going on at a party. When deputies arrived all the partygoers had disappeared, but the officer noticed a vehicle leaving the area with four passengers in the car. When stopped, the deputy noticed a 17-year-old male passenger smelled of intoxicants and had bloodshot eyes. The boy admitted to drinking and blew a .15 on the breathelizer. The young man was sited for underaged drinking.
Pinned perp
On July 31 an 18-year-old Ortonville man was arrested after Granger Road residents reported that someone was sitting in their car outside of their garage. Before police arrived the couple saw the subject run into the woods. Deputies were unable to find him and left the scene, but were called back because the homeowner had the suspect pinned on the ground. The young man was visibly intoxicated and admitted he had three beers. He was taken to the hospital for detoxification.
