Brandon Twp.- The township board has unanimously approved a 7-day extension for John Sloan to complete construction on his LeGault Boulevard property.
Sloan has been in an ongoing court battle with the township over his property. His unfinished home was slated for demolition July 6 if seven stipulations, which included enclosing of the home and clean-up of debris and equipment, were not met.
Although the requirements were not completed, the board voted at their July 5 meeting to give Sloan an extension due to his efforts to comply.
‘This is his home and we don’t want to kick him out,? said Ron Lapp, township supervisor. ‘I understand his neighbors? frustration, but everyone runs into misfortune and hard times.?
The 7-day extension stipulates that Sloan must be actively working to complete the home everyday prior to July 12, when the extension ends.
