Students in the Lake Orion Community Schools will get an extended vacation — for at least one day.
The district announced on its website Wednesday afternoon that all schools will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 3.
Thursday was to be the day that school re-opened following the holiday break.
The district cited bad conditions on back roads in the area as a reason for the closing. Calls to the district office (which was closed on Wednesday as well) were not immediately returned.
