The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department responded to an animal welfare check at the North Oaks Animal Hospital on Clarkston Road on June 26.
According to an OCSD report, a 44-year-old female employee of the animal hospital told a deputy that there was a vehicle in the parking lot with the windows rolled up and a dog locked inside.
The woman said the dog was out of water and asked the deputy if he could get the dog out of the vehicle. The deputy unlocked the vehicle and the dog was taken into the animal hospital.
The deputy left his card on the vehicle’s windshield, and later got a call from the dog’s owner, apologizing and thanking him for letting the dog out of the car.
