Michigan’s Presidential Primary election will be held next Tuesday (Jan. 15).
Those in need of absentee ballots still can still make arrangements, but time is running out.
The clerk’s office will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, and 2 p.m. Saturday is the deadline to have an absentee ballot mailed to your address.
Those wanting to pick up an absentee ballot in person have until 4 p.m. on Monday to do so.
The clerk’s office reminds all voters that valid photo identification is now required to obtain a ballot. Those not possessing valid ID must sign a waiver in order to vote.
Voters can request either a Democratic or Republican ballot, but not both, for this closed primary. Voters do not need to be a registered member of a political party to obtain a ballot.
