The Lake Orion Dragons fifth grade basketball team finished the 2006-07 season with a perfect 18-0 record.
The Dragons finished in first place during the regular season and won the year end tournament at the Joe Dumars Fieldhouse in the fifth/sixth grade east division. In 2005/06, the team won the same championship in the third/fourth grade division.
In addition to the Joe Dumars championship, the Dragons won the Oakland Christian Santa Slam tournament in December and the Eastern Michigan Sly Fox tournament in March.
‘They’re a great group of boys that play very well as a team,? said coach Mike Wood. ‘They play great defense and run the floor extremely well. I’ve enjoyed watching them develop into very good basketball players.?
