Dear Editor,
(In response to: ‘Brandon Middle School keeps ‘Eyes on Africa,? The Citizen, March 14, page 3).Brandon Middle School thanks The Citizen for their support in promoting our charity, ‘Eyes On Africa.? We have exceeded our goal of collecting 200 glasses. Because of your article, the local optometrist office of Baldwin Eye Care donated over 100 sample eyeglasses.
Furthermore, Danielle Hart collected a generous donation from Lens Crafters of Great Lakes Crossing.
The remainder of our collection came from staff and student donations.
The BMS students who made this so successful are as follows: Danielle Hart, Gabrielle Mathes, Lea Dulek, Kristie Morales, Karlie Bunting, Evan Wolfert, Darien Bandel, Morgan Baker, Erin Wall, Amber Sutton, Natasha Krivack, Liz Wudarcki, Destiny Hedgewood, and Madison Mitchel. One of this group, Danielle Hart, deserves heavier weighted recognition. Danielle found the charity, contacted the founder, and continued correspondence with the founder for information on collecting and running a successful charity. Danielle continually forwarded the correspondence to me and kept the announcements fresh for the student body.
Thank you to the Ortonville community and the Brandon Middle School students for the success of our charity, ‘Eyes On Africa.?
