The Orion Township board has confirmed the final ballot language for the fire millage renewal and increase, and police millage renewal and increase, both to be placed on the Aug. 3, 2004 Primary Ballot.
If approved, the Orion Township Fire Department would be allowed to levy .9836 of one mill, and also an additional .0137 of one mill (equaling a total of one mill) for a period of four years, starting December 2004. It is estimated the proposal would result in the authorization to collect $1,677,765 in the first year, if approved and levied.
The police millage would continue to levy 1.9303 of two mills, and also be authorized to levy an additional .0697 of two mills (equaling a total of two mills) for a period of four years, starting December 2004. It is estimated this proposal would result in an authorization to collect $3,355,530 in the first year, if approved and levied.
