The Oxford/Orion FISH needs your help again this holiday season to fill Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets with canned goods and packaged food.
The most needed items are canned fruit and vegetables, evaporated and dry milk, cream of mushroom soup, stuffing, instant potatoes, pie crust and muffin mix, rice, and macaroni and cheese.
Boxes for food drop-off have been placed at The Oxford Leader, the Lake Orion Post Office, and Oxford Township offices. Many area churches and schools will also be collecting for FISH. Please donate nonperishable items by November 18.
Oxford/Orion FISH is planning to provide holiday groceries for 250 families in our community this year and the pantry stock collected now will help those families for the next six months.
This year FISH has requested people donate grocery gift cards in $10, $15, or $20 amounts, instead of perishable foods such as turkey, meats, and fresh produce.
