Free health kits

The Great Lakes Cancer Institute offers free colorectal cancer screening kits during March, National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
The institute recommends regular screening beginning at age 50. Tests can detect cancer at an early stage, increasing chance for full recovery, and prevent cancer from developing by finding precancerous polyps that can then be surgically removed.
‘It’s the test people are too embarrassed to talk about, but it can save your life,? said Susan Yun, nurse navigator for Great Lakes Cancer Institute-Clarkston.
The at-home kits are mailed to individuals aged 50 and older on request by calling 1-866-696-GLCI (4524).
