Bailey Lake Multi-age Girl Scout Troop 1945 collected 54 new and used games recently for the Salvation Army After-School program in Pontiac.
The fifth- and sixth-grade girls delivered the games earlier this month to about 50 students in the program. Salvation Army volunteers tutor students, and offer Spiritual Mass and meals, as well as time for games.
‘Some of the girls were nervous, but all the girls left with smiles on their faces,? said Laura Pangori, troop leader.
‘It was a lesson for our troop to open your heart to everyone, and share a toy of your own that you no longer use. It is always good to receive, but even better to give.?
The toy drive was one of many community service projects for the Clarkston area Girl Scouts. They also collect glasses for the Lions Club and Thanksgiving food for Lighthouse North.
‘They do so many different things,? Pangori said.
