Oxford golfers faired the best out of all Oxford’s teams, emerging 2-0 from last week’s competitions.
Last Monday, Oxford golfers defeated the Linden Eagles with a low score of 162-167 in their first league match-up of the season.
Sophomore Ryan Collier was low scorer for the Wildcats with a 37, senior Dominic Crosson was a couple of strokes behind the leader with a 39, and sophomore Tony Frias and senior Josh Tindall each shot a 43.
Head coach Terry Kelley was pleased with his team’s performance. Oxford, who didn’t win one match in the league last year, is off to a good start.
‘It was a good win and we played well, but we must continue to improve,? Kelley commented. Oxford is 1-0 in the league.
In a non-league match-up, Oxford traveled to Wyndgate Country Club to take on Lutheran High North last Tuesday. Again Oxford emerged victorious 179-200.
Oxford was led by seniors Dominic Crosson and Josh Tindall, and sophomore Ryan Collier who all shot a 43. Sophomore Alex Ignagni rounded out the scoring for Oxford with a 50.
Oxford improves to 2-0 overall.
