Dear Editor:
Thank you, Wojciechowski family (owners of Wojo’s Greenhouse) for allowing the Saint Anne Youth Group to use their facilities for this year’s Haunted Forest. The youth group did a fantastic job with this year’s presentation. Much of which can be attributed to being allowed to use the entire facilities at Wojo’s ? again, thank you.
My daughter was a youth group member in years past, and our family helped with some of the first haunted forests when it was behind Harvey Swanson. I helped with clearing the forest of downed trees and branches while my children and wife helped clear the paths. The day of the actual events, my daughter was a guide, my wife helped at the entrance, and I was on security patrol throughout the area. These events in the past were good, with the limited space and opportunity of placing the show in the woods; having to carry everything in and out each day was difficult.
Wojo’s offering up their facility allowed the youth group to really go all out this year, and it showed. My daughter was asked by Kim Zernec to come back again this year and help be a tour guide. My family was at the haunted forest on the night of Oct. 25 to visit the scariness.. What a great job put on by the youth group this year. The line to get in was long (a good thing, many visitors) and everyone was dry since it was within a building. The helpers looked to really enjoy themselves being dry this year. Having a better facility allowed the group to go all out and really put on a great show.
All profit from this activity goes to the youth group to help fund mission trips that these kids go on each year, where they go to other areas to help those in need. My daughter has been on a couple of those trips in years past, and the experiences she gained from these will be with her for the rest of her life.
