A head-on collision on Teelin Drive Thursday morning sent two young boys to the hospital, one of whom was not wearing a seatbelt.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s report, a 26-year-old Oxford woman was westbound on Teelin Drive (just west of M-24) in her 1999 Dodge Ram when she was struck head-on by an eastbound 2004 Dodge Ram.
The eastbound Ram was driven by a 19-year-old Oxford man, who ‘admitted (the accident) was his fault,? the report stated.
The Oxford man told the sheriff’s deputy his truck windows were ‘fogged up? and as a result, his vehicle crossed the center of the road.
‘He knew he was on (the) wrong side of (the) road,? the report stated.
Both drivers were uninjured, but the two boys (ages 6 and 9) who were passengers in the Oxford woman’s truck were transported by ambulance to Lapeer Regional Hospital.
According to the report, the 6-year-old was not wearing a seatbelt and as a result of the impact, hit his head on the windshield, cracking it (see photo right).
Both boys were treated and released from the hospital, the report stated.
The Oxford man was cited by the deputy for driving left of center causing a personal injury accident.
