The Clarkston boys Hershey Track program took home some ribbons from the Hershey Track and Field State Final in Holt on July 7.
The 400-meter relay team of Evan Farough, Michael Nicholson, Caleb Bright and Thomas Bull took first place in the 9-10-year-old division.
Michael Nicholson finished in fourth place in the shot put in the 9-10-year-old division.
In the 11-12-year-old division, Spenser Pawlik, Scott Cousino, A.J. Kowal and Tristan Farough placed fifth in the 400-meter relay.
Pawlik also finished in sixth place in the 800-meters.
‘The boys did a lot better this year,? Clarkston Girls Track and Hershey Track Coach John Yorke said. ‘They had a good year. We had a lot more kids place at the state meet this year. The boys did a nice job.?
Yorke also said participation was up this year.
‘Overall, the young kids track program is starting to get off its feet and get a lot more participation and I’m hoping for more next year,? Yorke said. ‘People are just starting to find out about it.
