Holiday activities in downtown Orion

Gather with your neighbors in downtown Lake Orion to light the Community Christmas Tree on Wednesday, November 28, at 6:00 p.m. The tree will be set up across for CJs on Flint Street in downtown.? Mrs. Claus will be attending the ceremony to help us count downtown to lighting the tree. Sing festive songs and enjoy free hot chocolate sponsored by Genisys Credit Union.? Don’t forget to visit many of the downtown retailers who will be open until 8:00 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Lake Orion DDA and Orion Area Chamber of Commerce.?
On Saturday, December 8th, the scene in downtown Lake Orion will be that of a bustling holiday village, filled with nostalgia and holiday cheer. Strolling carolers in authentic attire will roam the streets singing holiday favorites, horse drawn carriage rides will take visitors for a ride throughout the decorated Village and one of Santa’s reindeer will be visiting for a fun photo opportunity.? Watch ice carving demonstrations and enjoy free hot chocolate. Bring your family downtown between 2 p.m. ? 6 p.m. for this unique downtown holiday experience.? All of the shops downtown will be open and ready to help you pick out those unique gifts for your loved ones.?
Start your New Year off right by running or walking in the 13th Annual New Year’s Resolution Run on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Registration begins 9 a.m. at the corner of Shadbolt and Lapeer Streets. The race begins at 10 a.m. The cost for pre-registered runners is $25 and all pre-registered runners will be guaranteed a t-shirt. Pre-registration ends on Friday, December 21.
