Hoopsters fall from grace

Life atop the Flint Metro League was short-lived for the Oxford basketball team.
The Wildcats dropped two games to FML foes last week and fell out of first place.
The Cats lost to Fenton, 77-70, and then to Lapeer East, 65-50, to fall to 5-3 in league play.
Fenton jumped to a 15-12 lead after one quarter and increased it to 44-33 at halftime with a big 29-point outburst in the second quarter.
Oxford outscored the Tigers 37-32 in the second half but could not overtake Fenton.
Tim Ketelhut led the way for the Wildcats with 21 points. Billy Keenist had his best output of the season with 18 points. Alan Willar contributed 11 points.
In the East matchup, the Eagles outscored Oxford in every quarter and led by as many as 17 points, to avenge a loss earlier this season on the Wildcat’s court.
Oxford pulled to six points in the second half but could not overtake East.
Brad Dugan led Oxford with a game-high 25 points. Brandon Dugan added eight points and Keenist contributed seven.
The Wildcats were facing Clio on Tuesday and will travel to Lapeer West on Friday night.
