Brandon’s Adam Hyde and Ben Reed represented the Blackhawks? boys track team at the Division 2 state track meet June 5 at Caledonia.
Hyde competed in the 300 meter hurdles and Reed in the 800 meter run, but neither finished among the top eight placers in their respective events.
At the May 28 Oakland County track meet, Hyde was the lone Blackhawk to place, finishing fifth in the 300 meter hurdles (40.9).
A couple of Brandon freshmen stood out for the Blackhawks one day later at the Oakland County Freshman Meet. Kyle Worden took first place in the discus with a throw of 113?6?, while Mitch Walker earned a third-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 37?3-3/4?.
