The Clarkston Varsity Hockey team added put their first win on the boards on Dec. 1 with a 4-1 win over St. Clair Shores Unified.
The Wolves satisfied that hunger against the Lakers, who were a state-ranked team for much of last season.
Freshman Jacob LaPorte opened the game by scoring the first goal with 9:05 left in the first period with assistance from sophomore Chase Wiedemann and senior Adam Bruderick.
St. Clair Shores tied the score with less than ten minutes remaining in the second period.
The Wolves pulled into the lead with 1:13 in the same period with a goal from Bruderick with assistance from senior Joshua Sowers and junior Adam Larkin.
LaPorte and sophomore Garrett Polish clinched the game by scoring one goal each, putting the score at 4-1.
Sophomore goalie Jack Viazanko made 27 saves in the net. The Wolves put 31 shots on St. Clair Shores’ net.
Clarkston tied their OAA Red league game against Birmingham Unified, 4-4.
The Wolves head to Plymouth Cultural Center on Wednesday to take on Salem, 7:30 p.m.
They are back home on Saturday when they host North Harrison, 8 p.m. The improved their overall record to 1-4-1.
