Brandon Twp.- The Brandon Township Public Library has hired a new librarian especially for teens.
Katie Hickson, 28, began her part-time position as teen librarian last week.
‘I’m excited to get involved and get started,? said Hickson, who has a master’s degree in library information science from the University of Western Ontario and previously worked for three years at the Baldwin Public Library in Birmingham as a teen and children’s librarian. ‘I believe I’ve got a great challenge and this is a wonderful age group to work with.?
Hickson will work in the afternoon Monday through Friday and replaces teen team coordinator Teresa Cannon, who resigned at the end of August.
‘She’s young and professional and I think the kids will love her,? said library director JoAnn Gavey.
