Kids try cross country

The Clarkston cross country teams held their fifth-annual Elementary Race Sept. 28 behind Clarkston High School.
A record 200 elementary students, kindergarten-fifth grade from the entire district were invited to race. Students in K-2 ran a half-mile course.
Grades 3-5 ran a mile. Boys and girls also ran separate races, with the top 10 receiving medals.
Members of the middle school cross country team acted as pacers for the races. For the second year in a row, Independence Elementary school won the traveling trophy by having the highest percentage of participants in the races.
