Lady Dragons practicing for new basketball season

Last year the Lady Dragons won their league championshp in O.A.A.division three.
Girl’s basketball coach Steve Roberts said the four top scorers last year were Bethany Waterworth, Courtney Zott, Melanie Lamerato and Sara Turnbull.
‘We were ranked 9th in the state last year, said Kline. We had success and experienced the agony of defeat,? said Roberts.
When the team didn’t win at their district championship last year, Roberts said the teams hopes and dreams were dashed.
‘We will go farther this year, we have an excellent chance to win consistently,? said Roberts.
Roberts said his team is well balanced and because they are, they can play using many different options.
‘This team can hustle and get up and around the floor. They really take care of the basketball in rebounds and shooting.?
A very experienced team, Roberts said most all of his players are able to play throughout the year in A.A.U. travel teams and national tournaments.
‘These girls parents are extremely committed to their development,? said Roberts.
The Orion Shock/Pistons Roberts said help to provide opportunities for his players to develop their skills.
‘They come out and talk to our players, it’s a real partnership,? said Roberts.
While the Lady Dragons met their goal by winning their league championship last year, Roberts said the team wants to redeem themselves in the district competition and go on to compete further this year..
New for the team Roberts said will be the team moving to a new division.
‘It will be more competitive this year, but our team is up for the new challenge,? said Roberts.
