Independence Township Parks and Recreation offers swim lessons at Deer Lake Beach.
Session one is Monday-Thursday, June 15-25. Registration at Township Hall, 6483 Waldon Center Drive. Registration deadline is 5 p.m., June 10.
Group swimming lessons, with no more than six students per instructor, are available for youth ages 6 months-18 years. Private lessons are now offered at Deer Lake Beach for $15 per half hour. All swim instructors are at least 16 years old, Ellis-certified lifeguards, are trained in instructional techniques for swimmers of all ages and abilities.
