Dear editor,
When I heard K2 had been banned, I was cheering (Local efforts help push drug-banning legislation, Oct. 6).
I am so proud to be a part of Lake Orion and the North Oakland Community Coalition (NOCC) after reading what effect Lake Orion, (Lake Orion Police Chief Jerry Narsh) and NOCC had on this dangerous drug being banned.
This is a great example of what individuals can do to make positive differences, as well as the impact NOCC has made and will continue to make with the entire community coming together.
Substance abuse with our teens is not just someone else’s problem… it’s a problem that affects every teen, school, parent, citizen, business, community, etc., and we all need to ban together to make changes like this.
Thank you so much for sharing this incredible achievement our whole community can be proud of.
I hope it makes every person in our community even more enthused about getting involved and making Lake Orion a healthy, substance abuse-free environment for our teens!
