Dear Editor,
(In response to, Library needs township board support for millage vote, The Citizen, Jan. 14, page 1). The people of Brandon Township do realize and appreciate the importance of the library, that’s why we voted for and built the great one we now have.
I hope everyone understands the wonderful services available, at no cost, and the free library cards are not free, they are paid for by the tax payers of Brandon Township.
Our neighbors are losing their homes, requests at food pantries continue to rise, families are struggling every day, just to survive. Many other service departments have had to lay off and make cuts.
All things considered, I find it difficult to justify a tax increase to benefit the library at this time.
