Lake Orion Baptist Lions hosted a rematch with the Bethany Christian School Bruins of Troy this past week after defeating the Bruins on their court in December.
The Bruins evened up the season by beating the Lions 54-37.
The Lions began strong and led 14-9 at the end of the first quarter, with only 2 turnovers to the Bruins? 4.
At half time the Lions led 23-20, still controlling the ball well with only 3 turnovers. The Lions continued to handle the ball well with no turnovers in the third period to the Bruins 4 turnovers and leading 34-33 going in to the 4th period. The 4th period was dominated by the Bruins, outscoring the Lions, 23 to 3. Turnovers (total of 9) led to easy lay-ups for the Bruins and caused the Lions to get completely away from their game plan. The Lions struggled at the line hitting only 6 for 15 or 40 percent, after coming off their last game where they hit 89 percent of their free throws.
Treavor Halleck led the Lions with 17 points, 2 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block and 1 assist. Matt Cameron had 7 points, 10 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 assist and hit 2 for 2 from the line. James Moreno had 6 points, 2 rebounds 1 steal and 4 assists. Chris Hojnacki had 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 block. Stephen Watson had 2 points, and 6 rebounds. Freshman Brad Watterworth had 1 point and 10 rebounds, 3 blocks and 1 assist.
The Lions are 5 and 3 for the season and are 3 and 3 in their conference play.
Travis Woodham led the Bruins with 27 points, scoring exactly half of the Bruins? points.

The Lions will host two games this next week with Springfield Christian Christian Academy of Springfield Township and Christian Leadership Academy of Troy. Both will be a rematch for the season.
