The LOBOS 98 Boys won the 2009 Lakeshore Soccerfest Tournament held Memorial Weekend in Holland, Mich.
This is the second year in a row the 98 Boys, coached by Jeff Baron, have won the prestigious tournament. The team won all four games during the weekend, beating teams from Bay City, Grand Rapids and Holland and Zeeland. They outscored their opponents 18-2 to capture the U-11 Boys Champions Cup.
‘Back-to-back championships is a very special accomplishment. I’m proud of the boys for working so hard to repeat as champions,? said Baron.
Coach Baron’s other team, the 96 Boys, were finalists for the second straight year in Holland.
The 98 Boys have made it to the finals six times in the past two years.
