Bob McGowan of Independence Township is an award winning poet ? his book ‘A Year on the River? won a Gold Award and best in category in the Detroit House of Craftsmans Printing competition.
“It’s a handsome book,” McGowan said. ‘We went for quality instead of cost.?
The book features photos of the Detroit River by Joseph Crachiola and McGowan’s poems, which were inspired by them.
He’s writing more poetry and working on a children’s book, ‘Marsha.?
‘That’s the one I’m having the most fun with,? McGowan said. ‘It’s a simple fable about a flower growing in a heart-shaped hole in an apple tree ? the circle of life.”
