Both Brandon and Goodrich’s girls soccer teams earned wins in the opening round of district action Tuesday, May 31.
‘The Blackhawks defeated Holly 2-1 at Holly, as Jacqueline Back converted a free kick for her second goal of the game to give the Blackhawks the win.
Brandon (6-10-1) advanced to take on Stoney Creek in the district semifinals Thursday, June 2 at Fenton.
‘The Martians earned a 3-2 win against Armada in their district opener. Heather Cardneau scored the Martians? first goal in the first half on a 35-yard shot. Meredith Mayberry and Stacy Luttrell added goals in the second half for the Goodrich win.
Jessica Merchberger earned the win in goal for the Martians.
Goodrich advanced to take on Almont in district semifinal action June 2 at Goodrich.
