Locals deliver Christmas gift in April

On Saturday, May 3 local residents from the volunteer charitable organization Christmas in April helped paint the garage of a Ball Street resident who is experiencing poor health. Spearheaded by Rob Chambers, the group painted the garage and interior painting while workers spruced up the landscape with donations from area businesses. Among the donations were flowers from Wojo’s Greenhouse, grass seed from Hamiltons Feed Store and a generous amount of trees and shrubs from Country Oaks. Lillies were donated by Jene Bombeck. When the work was done Bob and Marge Chambers prepared and served lunch to the volunteers at the Brandon Fire Station. Christmas in April is a national organization that identifies people in need or low income residents that are in need of assistance for home maintenance. Once a year a group of volunteers replace kitchens, complete home renovations.
