Lake Orion qualified 26 power lifters for the State meet in March at the MHSPLA Lake Orion Regional Meet this past Saturday at the high school. A total of 475 lifters from the region participated, probably the largest meet Lake Orion has hosted, Head Coach Eric Jennings said.
After combining and comparing overall points between the squat, bench press and dead lift, the Lake Orion women’s teem took third overall with 47 points, behind Port Huron (97) and first place winners Croswell Lexington (113). The men’s JV team placed third with 86 points behind Croswell Lexington (95) and Port Huron (97). Varsity took second with 89 points to Port Huron, 91 points.
The State meet will be March 11 and 12 at Muskegon Mona Shores High School.
