Parents of elementary age children will be paying more money for lunch next fall.
Lake Orion School Board members OK’d an increase of 15 cents ($1.85-$2).
The increase will generate approximately $36,369 to total lunch sales. This amount offsets the rising cost of food and supplies and the $30,000 overhead costs the food service department pays to the district’s General Fund.
Estimated revenue for selling lunches at $1.85 last school year was $448,551.
No increase is expected at the secondary level because of the ‘tiered? price structure. ($2.25-$2.50).
