Groveland Twp.-An extended hours medical facility will soon open in the township.
Three physicians from Hurley Medical Center in Flint will open M-15 Urgent Care, 250 N. Ortonville Road, Suite C in the Oakwood Plaza near Bueches’s Food World in early July. The office will be next door to Genisys Credit Union.
‘The facility will be like an emergency room where patients can walk in without an appointment,? said Dr. Ahmeb, who along with three other Hurley physicians will open the business. ‘Any small minor injury will be treated at the site.?
M-15 Urgent Care will treat all common illnesses and minor injuries. After receiving treatment at the urgent care, patients will follow up with their primary care physicians at a later time. Patients with more serious conditions or injuries will be referred to hospital care after consulting the patient’s primary care physician.
The same group also owns Flushing Road Urgent Care, near Hurley Medical Center in Flint.
‘The M-15 Urgent Care offers extended hours of service, such as after 5 p.m., when most primary physicians are closed,? he said. ‘The concept is to reduce the cost of health care by avoiding unnecessary ER visits and longer waits at busy ER’s/trauma centers. The location in Groveland is at least 12 miles from the nearest ER facility.?
