During the annual Main Street Oakland County awards ceremony on March 4, the Ortonville Main Street program received recognition in four categories.
Debbie Baker was named 2010 Volunteer of the Year; Pam Belding is the 2010 Downtown Development Authority Board Member of the Year; Winning 2010 volunteer of the year was Debbie Baker; Event of the Year is CreekFest; and Extraordinary Volunteers is the Volunteer Management Program of the Year.
‘I love it when volunteers are recognized for the good things they do for their community,? said DDA Executive Director Molly Lalone. ‘We all have to work together to prosper. Pam and Debbie and the other DDA volunteers are fantastic examples for everybody.?
The next DDA event is Night at the Races, set for 6:30 p.m., March 26, at the Old Town Hall, 486 Mill St. Guests will view and bet on previously taped horse races to win a variety of prize packages while enjoying food, a cash bar and each other’s company.
Admission is $20 and proceeds will be used to purchase playground equipment for Crossman Park.
