Man facing a felony charge for fleeing from police

A 19-year-old man is facing felony charges after eluding police on Saturday.
According to Lake Orion Police Chief Jerry Narsh, police attempted to pull the individual over. He was observed speeding and running a stop sign. He was going 55 mph in a 30 mph speed zone. After police turned on their lights, the individual immediately sped up to 70 mph on Atwater Road.
After trying to make a turn onto Newton Road, the car slid and did a 180. After taking off again, the suspect eventually pulled into a residential drive on Newton.
Narsh said that this is the individual’s second offense of operating while under the influence, and that the man blew a .16 blood alcohol level.
Fleeing and eluding police is a felony, and the man is looking at prison time, Narsh said.
