Meadowbrook Interiors offers an ‘eclectic’ selection

Picture finding the perfect antique plush chair at an auction and all you need is a gorgeous dark wood reading table to match – and maybe an elegant new lamp or modern picture to set off the scene.
Where can you find an original selection scattered with both new and old items in one place? Why, Meadowbrook Interiors in downtown Oxford of course.
Co-owners Pat and Kal Mansour officially opened the new home interior store on July 2. The concept behind the business is to bring a new style to Oxford that mixes the old with the new.
‘We’re trying to bring an eclectic taste to Oxford,? said Pat Mansour. ‘We find that blending new home accessories with antiques makes a home much more interesting.?
Meadowbrook Interiors offers a wide array of products from antiques dating between the late 1800s through the 1970s and stone artifacts to outdoor furnishings and candle holders.
‘My husband inspired me to open this shop,? explained Mansour. ‘This is his passion. He would buy the old and I would buy the new and it works beautifully. It’s how we decorate our own home.?
Many of the antiques available at Meadowbrook Interiors include larger pieces of furniture, rugs, mirrors and room decorations. Some of the many new items include candle holders, lamps and wall hangings. Just a few of the store’s outdoor offerings include unique bird baths, planters, benches and even some antique lawn furniture.
The artifacts offered by Meadowbrook Interiors are stone replicas of original, historical finds of Greek and Italian art. Just some of the many replicas available through the shop include wall plaques, columns, busts and even fireplace mantels. All of the stonework is molded locally and can be antiqued in different finishes to match any rooms decor.
In addition to all of these wonderful products, patrons can also find that perfect set of custom-made draperies through Meadowbrook Custom Draperies by Yianna Katrivestis. With 28 years experience in the business, Katrivestis makes all of her custom draperies from start to finish: she creates the designs, stitches the product and then installs them herself. She can even made coordinating room accessories such as comforters and furniture coverings. All of the products are made in-house at the store.
And as if this wasn’t enough, Meadowbrook Interiors also offers silk floral arrangements through ‘Yianna’s Creations.? Owner Yianna Papasaglu creates a multitude of original floral designs, or patrons can simply purchase one of the many displayed in the store.
‘The most important part of our business though is that there is something to fit everyone’s budget,? added Mansour. ‘We have items ranging from $5 on up. We’re priced very competitively and we keep our prices very fair.?
Mansour said her main goal at the moment is to become a fixture of downtown Oxford. She wants to ‘dig in our roots? and ‘be here forever.?
‘I want to cater to everyone in the area,? she explained. ‘I want to offer products that cater to everyone and are priced for everyone. I hope to capture the attention of some of the new construction in the area.?
Meadowbrook Interiors is located in a beautiful redesigned store at 11 S. Washington St. in downtown Oxford.
‘This use to be the old bicycle shop so you can believe the transformation that has taken place in here,? said Mansour. ‘My husband put in months of work to make this shop beautiful.?
