Registration for Independence Township parks and rec baseball and softball, ages 3-18, is open through Feb. 26 for residents of the township and Clarkston Community Schools.
Open registraion begins March 2.
Late registration for parks and rec soccer, ages 4-18, is available ? $10 late fee.

Wild game dinner

Clarkston Campbell-Richmond American Legion Post 63 hosts its annual Wild Game Dinner on Saturday, Feb. 21, at the post home, 8047 Ortonville Road.
The planned menu is elk, white tail deer, pheasant, turkey, walleye, trout, salmon and other assorted wild game. Final selection is provided by local hunters.
There will be a Gun Raffle, Kayak Raffle, 50/50 Drawing, and Booze Basket Raffle. Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner is served from 6-8 p.m. Tickets are $20 and only 180 tickets will be sold. Tickets are available at Post 63 and by calling 248-625-9912 after 3 p.m.

SADD contest extended

The Clarkston High School SADD Club has extended the deadline for its drawing contest to Feb. 23.
As part of its Strive for a Safer Drive Grant Project, the club is asking students to draw a picture about distracted driving.’The goal is to help new and experienced drivers make safe choices on the road.’Drivers can make safe choices by not using their cell phones while driving.
Last year’s project was a shoe collection and display.
Drawings should be sent to: Clarkston High School; care of SADD Club/Mrs. Carter.? Include student’s name, grade and school on the back of their drawing.? Every child entering a drawing will receive a prize.? Pictures that are selected for use in the project, have the chance of winning a $25 gift card to ‘Pump It Up,? a $15 iTunes gift card, or a $5 gift card to McDonalds, along with other prizes.
Children grades K-7 are eligible to participate in this contest.
