Alex Kriebel of Groveland Township was a member of the Summit Sports Club men’s varsity soccer team, who won the National Champions title among home-schooled teams from across the country.
The National Homeschooled Soccer Championship tournament was held on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at the Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne University Complex.
‘The team really came together over the last month,? said Head Coach Keith Kauzlarich.
‘The boys dealt with a few mid-season losses, including an 0-1 loss to Oakland Christian who were the Division 4 State Champs.?
The last ten games were won by the Summit boys. Playing teams from Virginia, Indiana, and Michigan, they also won a game against an undefeated Greenville, SC team, 2-0.
The Summit Sports Club is in their 15th season and offers soccer, basketball, volleyball, and baseball for home-schooled boys and girls in southeastern Michigan.
‘The boys showed great resolve, finishing with 23 wins for the season,? said Kauzlarich.
