Armando Lopez, Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Davison Transportation Service Center delivery manager said a major section of M-15 between I-69 to the Oakland County line south of Goodrich will be resurfaced with one-and a half inches of asphalt starting in early May, with the projected completed by June 26.
The M-15 road surface in the Village of Goodrich will be omitted from the project due to curb cuts necessary within the limits’the project will be completed on a separate job, he said.
Lopez said that due to traffic volumes on M-15, the project will be worked on during the night hours.
‘The project will start at 8 p.m. and we’ll be off there at 5 a.m.,? he said. ‘The first task will be to fix the concrete under the asphalt, that will repair all the bumps along M-15. Following that we’ll come back and repair the pavement starting with the milling machine the new asphalt. Our goal here is to keep M-15 open when the commuters are rolling.?
In addition, Lopez said that during the summer of 2011, a left turn lane is planned for the intersection of Green Road and M-15.
The project will be paid for by the State of Michigan Highway Safety Fund.
