Orion Township was recently the target for a so-called “gentleman’s club.”
Because the option on the property involved has apparently expired, the proposed venture may now be looking for a new location — hopefully not in Orion Township or anywhere else in Oakland County.
I want to personally thank all of the citizens in the township and also those in surrounding communities who expressed their concern and offered their help to prevent this from going forward.
Special recognition should also go to county executive, Brooks Patterson, who was quick in forming a special task force to deal with this issue.
In addition to Brook’s staff, the corporation counsel; the prosecutor’s office; the state general’s office; Eric Wilson, our county commissioner; our township attorney and myself got together to address this.
Orion Township will continue to be vigilant, but all the citizens of Oakland County need to be on guard. Their neighborhood could be the next target. Every county resident should provide their support to oppose this sort of invasion from happening anywhere else in the county.

Orion Township Supervisor
